Doing the great room with it's 20ft ceilings, what a PIA, I'd rather do plumbing work than paint, actually I'd rather have a tooth drilled than paint, wish I had the bucks to hire it out...need to get it done so we can schedule the new carpet installation and furniture delivery. Course the upside is the wife has been eyeing a 58" HD flat panel :D :D :D so we can hide the electronics out of sight and not have a big black TV as the eye drawing point in the room...fat chance.
At least I almost have all the nail pops done and am on the last round of spackling, course when the primer goes on out comes the spackling stuff again to fix what I missed on the first two passes... guess I better go get the 12ft out so I can tackle the skylight corners.

You can come do mine next since you'll be all warmed up.

Wait until tomorrow morning when you wake up and can't move your neck.....good times right there.
Better pre-treat it tonight, either with meds or libation (one in the same for me :))

I hear ya!

I have been prepping an attic (2 rooms, 1 big bathroom, huge staircase) for paint for 3 days. removing old hardware, scraping, sanding, filling nail and staple holes, cracks and seams, doing drywall patchwork.

the attic was a kid's living area and there are millions of staple holes from posters on the slanted ceilings. the previous owners used screws to attach everything to the main wooden walls, which look like wainscoting, but the wood is about 2" thick so I spent an entire evening removing about 50 - 2" long screws. and the prev. owners painted over scotch tape on the walls, I think I need to bust out the belt sander to make that disappear, scraping and my trusty sanding block aren't cutting it.

It sucks! Hopefully tomorrow or Thurs. I can begin priming, the actual painting won't start til Monday, I'm going wheeling this weekend. I don't know what's worse, prep or paint... ugh.

The actual painting part isn't too bad, for a while. A really short while. It's all the other carp that goes along with it. It's all about the prep work, that tedious, tedious prep work.

ugh, thanks for the reminder that have to paint the exterior trim after i finish the bathroom remodel (2mo and counting)... the estimates I got were rediculous considering I have a brick house...
And I too have a house where the previous owners felt that everything needed to be held in place with deck screws. At least they are relatively easy to get out......

I'd rather be painting this afternoon than wrestling violent delusional overweight schizophrenics on the lockdown ward... One bloody nose and a heel-shaped chest bruise later...
