i just got it in the other day. its a 14bolt 69" wide, welded, 5.13 gears. i also put some chevy 63" leafs under there too. it flexes great. i will take some more pics later from the side and it flexing. now i just have to get my front axle in.

Those rear shackle angles are extreme. Looks like the they would hit the body before flexing much.

Are those springs moved underneath the "frame" rails or is it still outboard like stock? Also, if it's still outboard, did you modify the front mounts at all? How bout the rear shackle mount?

those are chevy 63" leaf springs moved under the fraim rail. the shackles have about 1 inch before they hit the body when the springs are flat. it is pretty stable on the road even with the soft springs moved under the frame rail

!LOL! Ya gonna move da shoks oot abit n hook dem inta da weel wels er wut? LOL! LOOks like whatever you can run up, you could run sidehill! BTW, with the right backspacing you could put fender skirts on and forget about the flares. LOL.

... have to add a ditto on the shackle angle. Way too extreme. If your getting a smooth ride as is, it will improve even more if you fix the shackle angle.

It should be pretty smooth as it is. I'd be surprised if it didn't clunk pretty often from hitting the body, but that's it. With the springs as flat as they are, the shackles won't ever need to go much furthur back. However, he should get massive droop like that. The only two things I really see as cause for concern are the lack of a brace in the middle of the shackle and the increased potential to drag the back of the leaf springs/shackles over everything.

One of these can only really be solved by using a shorter spring. It shouldn't be a big deal, though. As for the brace in the shackle, it may be there but I don't see one. As long as those shackles are, they could be VERY wobbly on the road with no center bracing. I'd either weld in a small piece of tube or at least drill a hole and stick it through an appropriate sized sleeve in the middle of the shackle. That should do the trick.

well the shackel angle first of all is PERFECT they don't move up at all! what u want them straight up and down???

and for the brace in the middle these are 3/8 plate steel! it isn't wobbling on the street so i don't c them bending anytime soon!!

and with 38's and 12 inches of lifts i don't think the leafs springs will b dragin too much!!:D :D :D

The thickness of the steel has nothing to do with it. I'm not talking about bending, I'm talking about the bushings deforming and allowing the leaf spring to move from side to side. Every bushing does this to some degree unless you eliminated the bushing. A shackle that long with nothing in the middle to prevent them from shifting side to side will make it much worse. If you haven't noticed it yet, you will. Keep an eye on those bushings. 10 bucks says they're trashed in 6 months if you take it off-road very often.

The size of the tire and amount of lift also have very little to do with you dragging the rear. You'd need a tire big enough to make your departure angle better than 90 degrees in order to never drag. Maybe you wouldn't drag much if you stay on the easy stuff, but given your build-up, I hardly think that's the case. As I said above, though, it doesn't really matter. That shouldn't damage much, just sound nasty and drag a lot. No big deal.

Otherwise, it looks pretty good.
