Well It's my daily driver for the time being, so I need it replaced today. That's why I'm going to Checker. I'm going to order the M.O.R.E. mounts and throw em on when I get em.
Well, I got the crappy Checker mount installed in about 40min. Works good for the time being. I'm still wondering which after-market mounts to order. M.O.R.E.'s or Brown Dogs. Polyurethane, or rubber, any suggestions??
Forgot to mention - especially when you install the aftermarket mounts (and it should be done when changing OEM mounts as well...) stack two flat washers under the head of the screws. Why? The holes are often not drilled/tapped out to a depth sufficient to accept the full length of the screw, and you end up torquing against the bottom of the hole instead of the mount bracket. This is why the engine mount screws usually end up breaking. Stack two washers under the head, and you don't have to worry about it - the washers act as a spacer to keep the screw from bottoming out.
