I just bought a Dana 44 for the front of my XJ it has a Hydrolic steering ram set up ready to go.Anyone running this set up? I want to run it! But Ive been looking at systems that make it work and thay are way to high priced for my buget.Does anyone know of anything that works? I heard of running an older chevy pump but not sure of what one. SO any help would be great.Pic or any write up.

Hydraulic will help for starters. Your stock pump will be fine. If it is old and makes noise replace it with a new OEM pump. The valve is going to cost you. It will be around 300.00 + or - but get a good one. Some people choose to use them off of forklift trucks, but be careful some of them will not work. I suppose if it came with your axle it is a single stroke ram or has a clevis on one end. But for the the pump I added a tranny cooler inline so it holds more fluid and keeps the system cooler. I place mine in front of the radiator. PSCmotorsports is a good place to look. There is a few more if you search. Good Luck

Is it for hydro assist or full hydro steering? A pic would help. Plenty of people around here are running assist, and some run full hydro. What to do, what parts to use and what it will cost, depends on which way you're going.
