Got a call tonight from the group ,they made it to the Hosp.in Yakima and are ok after rolling the jeepster on the lower east side of Naches Trail.
2 of the original group are camping and wheeling on Sunday, boy can`t wait to see if they make it.
I`m at home :speepin: in a comfy bed.

Just sitting at home, playing with the kids, daydreaming about wheelin'. Especially with the rain I'm getting, I dreaming of a nice muddy truck at the end of the day. See you guys soon.

Send some of that rain down here :sunshine:

Went to sister in laws wedding last nite, got my new water pump studs for the fan this morning (putting em in tomarrow) and just spending the day with my little girl. Overall not a bad weekend!

As I typed last message, RAIN STOPPED! What a tease. Why can't we good some good mud makin' weather.

Must be something in the air, cause my ex-son-in-law went out and got himself a DUI last night......... only thing good about it is that no one was hurt. But that's gonna put the skids to his 4x4ing for a while.

I picked up a 96 Cherokee yesterday morning. 87,541 miles, super clean inside. A recent forest service XJ. Wife even likes it!!!!!!!! Auto trans, 231 transfer case, hand crank windows. Two items I'm not in love with on it though -- air bag and the ABS.

Took the CJ5 out for a wheeling trip in the local area. Ran fine until I ended up with a throttle problem. Shoe laces always work nice to get home on. Then the wife caught me and next thing I new, I was loading up the truck for a dump run.

Leaving shortly to take the wife and her parents out for din-din like a good husband should every now and then. And that about sums up my exciting weekend so far! :)

Well my cooling fans decided that they wanted to start popping fuses all the sudden been fine for 4 months now. Decided that i could wait to figure out what was causing that and decided to work on the door, haven't had power windows in the RF since last year when i took out the wiring to install the 97+ door panel. Anyway got the wiring harness soldered together with the right connectors, installed it, started on the door panel, blew up my dremel making the hole bigger, looks like a cat got my arm from trying to hook up the linkage for the locks, then realized that they won't work anyway. hmmm.

Oh yeah and to top it all off i can't go wheeling if i wanted too, front driveline is about ready to fall out, slipyoke's wore out

Happy #*$^@)!& Labor day

Dingo

We played up at Naches and got to play on the rocks a bit. SOme good camping. Friend that was with us tore up his 4Runner pretty good. Wasted one rear spring, rear axle housing (damn toyota sheetmetal housing), front spring hanger/bumper, etc. NOT PRETTY.

Tomorrow going to look at and hopefully buy a new 25' enclosed Haulmark car trailer that has living quarters built into the front of it. I'll post pics if we can make the right deal :)

John

Just sitting here flogging myself, er, I mean, studying for my exam. Just slogging through the mud, I mean, through the problems. Ugh. Nice weather to be outside doing anything but this.

On the brite side, havent spent anything on gas....

Went to Toppenish for some bird hunting...

Got a little in last evening, but did mostly shooting at birds that were too far away. We had a 1/4 mi stretch and two guys, way too much distance to cover for too few birds. They were very selective where they flew.

Now for the exciting part.

My buddy leases a property to hunters in the form of a hunt club. Well, yesterday (before I got out there to meet up with them) two of his clients were hunting the property (near Goldendale), bowhunting deer, and found themselves in the middle of a marijuana grow operation. They realized it when they saw something move, which turned out to be a pair of Latino males looking at them with guns in their hands. When they went to leave they realized the brush they were in was very green. They high-tailed it out of the canyon and called my buddy on the radio, telling him what was going on. He raced to their general location, got out, and plopped himself on the ridgeline. As the two hunters came out, they told him via radio that there were two more guys with guns joining the chase...and were right behind them. My buddy fired three shots above the hunters to scare off the guys chasing. Sheriff's Dept got out there about 45mins later with an airplane to verify the location, then sent in numerous deputies to recover what was there. Our contact deputy estimated that it was worth about 1.2 MILLION DOLLARS' worth. Holy s**t.

Needless to say, the hunters were very spooked and it put a damper on our entire weekend. We still had fun BSing and hanging out on another pal's property. Still beats even a good day at work.

Day one: Worked my ninth day straight. Arrived home to two new daughters, for the night. Wife picked up a friends girls. Yikes, too much energy. Four kids bouncing off of the walls and showing me EVERYTHING as soon as I hit the front doors. But they were cute.

Day two: Girls went back to their mother. I feel bad for them, probably spent the whole day in the hospital. Spent the previous day up there. Anyway, by the time I got up, they were gone, my wife spent some quiet time with me before heading out to the Roy Rodeo. Entertaining way to wast four hours. Afterwards went to the parents house in Oly for a Birthday BBQ. Spent time watching TV and eating with family.

Day three: Have to get the bike out. Slipping clutch I am worried about, so won't go far, but she has not been started in over a month. Afterwards, probably wash the car and start the install for my SAFC II.

Later

Connect with anything?

Hunted Saturday night... Took 3 mourning dove in 3 shots. That's all the opportunity I had. The birds were there, just flying way too far off.

My friend, on the other hand, scared off the attackers. Didn't hit anything...on purpose. ;) One of the deputies asked him if he was scared shooting at Mexicans who could have easily shot back. 'Ma'am, I can hit something as small as a running coyote at 400yds with this rifle...so no, I wasn't afraid of them shooting back with a POS like an SKS at 200.' :D

Great !! Nice and HOT here !! Picking up Debris from the houses next door that blew onto my land , Pumped Water for Folks on My road that dont have it, Went to town tried to get food but they dont have any , But it aint as big as the ones on the coast so , all the trucks go there . Fixin to go out and shoot Squirells this evening , Donating Phone , Internet time to Folks in the Neiborhood , and cutting up trees off the road and ground ,REALLY A LABOR DAY Here !!

Heard that, back when I was playing Delta Force and BF2 all the cqb types kept bragging about how good they were, (like going 27892-37604 with 285 shots per is good), and how badazz they'd be real world. Then i look at my sniper going 275-9 with 2 per and see my 8mm mauser targs real world and think, yeah, you *might* load me down with lead, but how are you planning to get that close with your AR. lmao

Awsome! I had a dream the other day that I went down to New Oreleans and hunted looters, but you actually got to chase bad guys with guns! Very Cool.

Meanwhile, I went to Reiter and scared myself half-to-death. Had some fun playing in the mud, though! I love those Swampers!

I didn't get to chase anyone. :( We were going to go back in to find the guy's Nikon binoculars, but the guys decided against it. I had brought 20rounds of #4 buckshot for the 12ga and about 60 rounds for the Glock. To hunt dove, yeah I know. :D Meh, there are rattlesnakes and coyotes out there. ;) At any rate, we figured that we shouldn't poke around there because it was now a crime scene. Perhaps the deputies will find his binocs in the meantime.

Interesting weekend, for sure.
