Not sure why there is all this talk about having to go through the fire wall....personal preference I guess. Battery is on the pass. side and there happens to be an oblong cutout on the inside of the engine bay. That leads to the inner fender and if your route the 4 ga or 2 ga power wire through that with a coat hanger you come out right by the door jam where all the wires for the power window, locks go into the cab. Slice the oval grommet and insert the power wire to get inside the kickpanel and then run the wire along the bottom of the floorboards behind the trim to the rear cargo area.
Personally, I wouldn't mount an amp under the rear seat if you can help it, unless that amp is super bad ass and is stable to 1/2 ohm and thermal overload would be non issue (like the old art series ppi's and U.S. amps that were actually used in hospitals to power lazers). Of course amps like Jl audio out there are top notch......anyway, point is try to have more exposed air to the amp instead of an insulated, sealed off area like under the rear seat.
Here is how I did mine....pic of the cargo area box under my cargo rack:
I know, it looks big but I used it as a place to keep my amps, dummy cavaties for the amps, capacitor and sound processor with fans mounted at the top to draw the air out when the back seat is lock into position. Then all you have to do is feed the negative ground to the seatbelt bolts and it's good:
