How did you find NAXJA?

I was up wheeling today thinking about this and I honestly can not remember how I found NAXJA.

It got me thinking about the rest of you though...How did you come to find NAXJA? Word of mouth? Internet search?

I can't remember it either. I found it for the first time during the summer of 2004, when I was planning to buy a car. I found the NAXJA site, which helped me decide on a five-speed XJ. I ended up not buying a vehicle that summer, and forgot about NAXJA. In the fall of 2005, I had saved up some money and found a local five-speed XJ for sale in my price range. I remembered NAXJA, re-registered at the forum, read all I could in the next few days before going to look at the Jeep, and ended up buying it. I became a member two months later.

buddy of mine kept mentioning the site, then i rode with him at last years cherokee crawl, second i got home i got a username, then 70-ish posts later i paid up and here i am today

A lot of the people that started it came from the XJ-List I remember when it all started just didn’t join back then.

My yota friend showed me while helping me install a powertrax in my new xj. He has some toyota related screen name. Didn't realize NAXJA 's power until a year or so later.

It was a hard found internet search.

I searched several times looking for lift kit instructions. (I got my lift used) I was looking for everything I found here. The little things that you don't think about when installing 6.5'' springs. Shit like DW (which I overcame) and HD track bars.

What the hell kinda name is Naxja btw?

It didn't come up for ever. Then finally I think I came across Opie's page, and it began.

There were actually other people out there like me. XJ enthusiast's.

I didn't even notice peoples names were in red for the first month. As soon as I noticed I sent in my money.

I found NAXJA shortly after I got my first XJ (1987 four-door, it's now slated for Project: REDSHIFT,) and I found out about it from an internet search. I didn't know they were called XJ's then, so I probably did something like "Jeep Cherokee" +Tech, or something like that.

It's been six or seven years now, so I don't remember more than that. However, I've been a paid member more often than not, I think, and I now have four XJ's (five to-day - but it's parts by the time I'm done... I'll post up what's available once I get that far - but the hood and roof are mine, the transmission and transfer case are also mine, and I'll be taking the engine as well... The door shells should be available - they'd make good starts for half-doors, but I'd not use them when appearance is a factor. D30/D35, stock steering, it should be good for some spares once I'm done...)

Well I wasn't looking for the glory of naxja.

I was just looking for some direction. I tried stuff like, XJ lift kit, Cherokee lift kit instructions.

I didn't know I wasn't the only loser out there that loved thier Cherokee.

Jim, (ILLXJ) got me hooked.

I work with Jim. Every night, he'd be sitting at the puter for hours. All I knew at that point was he was on "a jeep site". Well, I got curious and started trolling a little on my own. I started asking Jim all sorts of Q's about his rig and what not. He offered to take me on a little wheeling trip on some of his mom's ground here locally. That was probably what really got me hooked. At that time my only vehicle was an S-10. I kinda started noticing XJ's for sale here and there. Jim mentioned Winterfest was comming up before too long. Well, I'll cut the story short; I bought an XJ and had the lift installed before WF. I had a blast at WF and meet some great people to boot. I have been hooked ever since. S-10 is gone, I got tired of the wyfe bitching about insuring two vehicles for me, one of which I never drove anymore.

A couple of hours internet searching for XJ info, came across NAXJA, mailed my membership 2 days later(i was actually a member for almost 2 years before I ran into another member, it was lonely in the U.C.I.C for a while..:D
