hood removal mistake

Made a bone-head mistake the other day while removing my hood and i would like to prevent it from happening to anyone else....when you look at your hood latch bellcrank bracket, it appears that you must drill out the rivets and remove it to get the cable/bellcrank assy off the hood.
Not true...pull the cable out of the retainers to get a little slack, then rotate the pin in the bellcrank assy until the cable lines up with the retaining slot. The pin and cable can then be pushed out easily.
No need to go looking for quarter inch rivets or the gun to pull them.....oh well

Thanks im getting ready to change out Hoods on my 87. I was wondering about those rivets myself.

Uhhhh well duh..... who told you to do that??? Well when replacing the tail light bulbs, 10mm socket to remove tail light. Dont smash out with hammer
