Any body know if you can swap the top end out of a 300, 400, or 450 /any year into a 2006 250?
TIA

Going for more power but don't want to lose the Sport Clutch

This is an xj forum.
I know thats why I put it in Off Topic/Other, cause it definitly is.
Who is Vtec and why would he/she know?

My quad fits in my XJ, does that make it better?

3oo ex, 450R and 400 ex have very different heads, and i never even bothered looking at a 250. that is the extent of my knowledge, I don't mess around with the baby bikes.

Think the sport clutch could even handle the extra power if I could get one to fit?

ok. the timing chain fit is a problem you would have to solve, if the block studs are the right spacing, stroke then comes into play because you would have to use the jug that matches the head you intend to use.

the exhaust would then be exiting the engine directly at your left leg IF you could get everything to match up internally. personally I wouldn't waste my time. the transverse mounting of the engine and funky tranny/axle setup won't allow the use of a complete engine/tranny from a 300, 400 or 450.

my advice is to scrap that idea and buy a real bike if you want to go faster. I know that what you're probably aiming for is a wolf in sheeps clothing, but the 250 is not the proper sheep to let that wolf lock up with, everyone will notice that your exhaust sticks out of the side of your engine for some reason.

Thanks for the help goodbubon, might give it a go some time in the future but not as soon as I thought if its going to take that much "adjustment".
Hit the nail on the head about the wolf in sheeps clothing idea. The exaust might not be a problem though I've had to do some custom exaust bending/fabrication for some dirtbike/moped frakenstien loophole jumping bike thing.
