Hollister wheeling on Monday?

In my mind I would say, blow in the inlet, get a little restriction and have air on the outlet, and practically non on the return, or bypass (purple correct?). I think that's how it should work.

The XJ is running again. We cleaned out the tank, reinstalled the pump, put in 4 gallons of fresh fuel, removed the schrader valve from the fuel rai,l and cycled the ignition about 25 times to get the mud out of the fuel lines and fuel rail. Once the gas started coming out clean, we put the schrader valve back in and fired it up. It runs without any issues. Next up is to put in some fuel injector cleaner and more fuel.

Not that anyone cares, but the restriction in the fuel pressure regulator is normal. It is due to the diaphragm in the regulator. The fuel pump puts out a lot more pressure than my mouth - that's why almost no air came out of the fuel outlet when I blew into it.

Cool, glad its up and running. At least it happened it Hollister and not any where else, lol. Kind of like when my timing chain let go around the corner from my house and less then a day before I went to the Sierra Nevadas. In a odd way it worked out for the better.

That could have been a lot worse.

I think this the first time I've heard of someone getting mud in the tank.

Is this like mud in your tires?

Here's another update in my saga: my XJ ran great for about a week and then she died on the freeway today with the same symptoms as the first time my CPS died: bucking, stalling, erratic idle, then dead. Towed it back to the house. Interestingly, once she cooled down I was able to start her right back up and drive her into the garage. I replaced the exhaust manifold with a new APN exhaust manifold. Total time was a little over 4 hours to swap it out.

The old exhaust manifold had a huge crack that went almost all the way around the pipe. I'm thinking that I was killing CPS's so often because the exhaust gasses were flowing right onto them and killing them. Anyway, the removal and install sucked (the bottom row of bolts is a complete bitch) but I got it done. She is much quieter now, seems to have a lot more power, and hopefully I can stop bumping this stupid thread.
