Hollister Run: Jan-2

I can't make the snow run on Jan 2 so I propose a run down to Hollister for those that are interested. So far it looks like me, Tim (knucklehead61), and my brother are going.

Anyone else interested? We're planning to get there around 10:30AM, hit some trails, and leave sometime around 3-4PM.

Sean, tell your dad to suck it up and bring his WJ. We'll probably need him to pull us out of stuff.

We'll be on CB channel 16 or 24 for anyone who is thinking about showing up. Right now, we plan on meeting at the main obstacle course with the mud pit and concrete stairs at 10:30AM.

Looks like I might be able to make it this weekend to Hollister so maybe I'll see some of you guys around. It will be nice to meet some local Jeep owners, I'll be there with a few of my buddies as well.

Here's our plan:

Tim, Nate, and I are meeting at the Holiday Inn located at Bernal Rd and Hwy 85 in South San Jose at 9:30 AM and getting on the road by 9:45 or so. We plan on getting to Hollister around 10:30 and playing on the obstacle courses for a little bit then hitting some trails. We'll be on CB channel 16 or 24. I've got a light blue 98, Tim has a dark green 2000, Nate has a white 96. We may have a YJ or two with us.

Good run today at Hollister. Got there around 11AM. The older obstacle course was super muddy. The rest of the place was pretty nice with damp soil but not muddy. No dust to speak of.

Tim (knucklehead_61), Sean (srmitchell), Sean's dad, Nate, and myself were driving vehicles. Sean's friend, Tim's wife, and Tim's friend were riding as passengers.

Tim running the Frame Twister on the old obstacle course. We had to pull him out - but then again a Yota on 40s couldn't make it thru either. I guess we'll call it a tie due to all the mud.

Nate running on the new obstacle course.

Sean running a new obstacle that they placed just outside of the old obstacle course towards the Tank Trap.

It was lots of fun.

I think I tweaked my steering, but no other damage to report.

fun day for sure! bruno had a great time, he has been crashed on the couch since we got home. good to meet sean & seans dad.
what ended up wrong on nates rig? the driveshaft? did he drive or tow home?

I think it is a u-joint going out in his front right axleshaft. We pulled the front driveshaft and the noise was still there. It was thumping once per wheel revolution. Either a u-joint or a unit bearing. We were able to limp it home without getting a tow.

Good. Glad you got it home. And im really glad the u joint didn't blow up on the trail.

I've had both go out... and both suck! I've also broken a lot of Driveshaft U-joints...
