Ya, I was lucky to get through that with only some scrapes, dents, and tearing my mirror off.
Strangely, I want to run it again. :confused:
 
I'm still in and I think Boatwrench is coming with me. or me with him. Depending on which XJ we are taking. Can't wait to hit the trails. See you Saturday morning.

Got referred to you guys bc I was looking for someone to hit up Hollister this weekend with to try out my new lift and was told that you guys were doing an open run this weekend. I was wondering if you guys will be doing any moderate runs as I'm not the greatest driver and have never been to hollister.

Come on down, the run is open to all levels of driver ability.

I think once we get there we will see what the group wants to run and go from there. A few favorite trails are rut, bitch, white rock, and also the rock quarry is a fun place just to play around a little and many others to chose from as well. You will do fine on just about any trail down there.

and a few other unnamed guests...

Did I miss anyone? Looks like a good sized group is coming out. We'll definately be by the obstacle course for the BBQ.


People who said they would bring food for the BBQ:
Me: hot links, chips, and I'll bring my BBQ grill :chef:
Chuck: condiments, cookies, tri-tip, 6 pack of heineken(for me:D)
rightseatsis: food and a small BBQ? (could you be any more vague? :) )
cjohnson: desert, cookies, or something :star:

Seems like we will need a few more things to grill up. Maybe some burgers or hot dogs? Anyone else want to bring something?
 
I'll bring some hot dogs of some sort...and a small case of something or other (any requests soda...beer :) ??) as long as someone will let me put it in their cooler...the Rubi dosn't really have room for a cooler that can fit more than a six pac.

You are missing Capt. Nemo. Him and I are heading down together. If any else wants to meet up at my place and caravan down with Nemo and I hit me up.

I was gonna bring Hot Dogs but it looks like someone else has that covered. How about I bring a pack of burgers and buns. I'll also pack the cooler with refreshments for everyone to share. Anyone interested in Mac Salad? Oh yeah - Can't forget Plates, Napkins and Utensils. I will bring some but if other folks could also bring some more that would be awesome.....

Nemo and I where planning at meeting at my house at 8 but Skipper would like us to meet at 9 since she has to work until 2 or later the night before. I am thinking that is fine. 9 am at my house off of Hamilton ave. in Campbell.
 
Anybody interested meeting at the Chevron Station in Gilroy (right off of 152)? It would be fun to caravan :cheers: I live in SJ off of first and gish (right by 101 / 880) if anybody wants to meet at my house.

We haven't talked about a CB Channel yet. We just gonna go with CH 16 to keep it simple?

To be more specific in what I am bringing:
chicken skewers,
baby carrots,
little tomatoes

Along with my little grill, I will bring some paper plates and napkins.

HOLLISTER IS CLOSED THIS WEEKEND!!!!

IT PISSES ME OFF WHEN THEY CLOSE THE TRUCK RANCH FOR A FAWKING MOTORCYCLE RACE! THERE IS 1200 ACRES SET ASIDE FOR BIKES, AND 800 ACRES FOR TRUCKS. DO THEY EVER CLOSE THE MOTORCYCLE SIDE- HELL NO!

On a lighter note, it would be a shame not to get together for the weekend. I am suggesting Clear Creek BLM area instead. Clear Creek is not much farther, and has all the facilities we need to have the run and BBQ. I took the weekend off to do some wheelin, I am going to do some wheelin somewhere!

Where the hell is Clear Creek? I am on a schedule and have to be home by 3:30 the latest so I don't think I can go anywhere else.
 
Went to the BLM website to check out Clear Creek and the website is down for "unanticipated maintenance"

It's a conspiracy :banghead:

Frank Raines would be cool.The last time I checked the creek trail was closed.Glad to see it is open again.
