Hollister Hills chapter run, Nov 4th

We hope to leave Hayward with four rigs at 7am Saturday (yea, right - I'll believe that when I see it)

we could be coming through SJ by about 8am. stopping at Bernal Albertsons.

...so we might make the Ranger Station by 10am.

The consist for this train is:
2K XJ towing the Porta Party RV
88 XJ towing the 87 TinCan Sami (filled with firewood)
87 "Suzooki"

See you on CB24

leaving now, soon to be with a very excited Phil...

who hopefully wont flop passenger side down this time... :D

The XJCreeper is finally rolling out! Got back from Georgetown a bit late last night. The fun continues!
CB channel 24 sounds good but I need to find an antenna. Loaned mine to someone on the Rubicon and now it''s gone forever. Felt good giving it away though! Now I can get a firestick! Look forward to seeing the rest on the :NAXJA: SC clan.

It may have been short...

but it was good to meet new folks.

Looks like the concern about whether the chapter was healthy or not has passed. Met folks arriving as I was pulling out and sent them to the top of the hill, I guess 40+ people and at least 20 XJs.

Got home and everything is OK. My oldest daughter stepped up, taking care of our mother so Mary (Rightseatsis) got off to work OK.

I'm off to work overseas for a week, hope work doesn't affect my JV plans.

Sorry that I didn't make it out this weekend. I am stuck at work, at the fire station. The state was kind enough to end fire season on friday, but is going to keep staffing the engines for another two weeks, go figure. Hope everyone had a fun and safe time.

We had a great day yesterday. It was nice to meet some new people, and see some old faces too.

Thanks to Mark(SharkXJ) for leading the group around and helping out with the new guys.

Thanks to Tom(Boatwrench) for bringing out the BBQ supplies, too bad they took out all the BBQ gtills in the park. These dogs will not go to waste, I will be bringing them down to Johnson Valley.

Pics should be up later today. Thanks again to all who came out. I had fun, although I am never going to Hollister without my wheeler again. :(

x10!

As one of the new guys, I wanna say thanks to everyone for making me feel welcome and a BIG THANKS to Mark for taking me "under wing". I really appreciate it, even after eating dirt clods most of the way home on 101 :D. I had a ton of fun both doing and watching (especially seeing Phil add to his dent collection on Squeeze Rock - that was very cool!). Definitely looking forward to doing it again.

Looks like a ton of fun, hopefully next time i will be able to make it

I had a great time for the short time I was able to stick around. And it was nice to put a face to a few more names. I lost contact with everyone and couldn't seem to raise anyone on the radio. I think that was when everyone was helping the FUBAR'd chevy. (I figured out that the cb doesn't work so well w/the antenna snapped off right at the base. . I guess I whacked a low hangin tree headin up to the top of the hill following BC.) All in all I had a lot of fun and hope I get out to join everyone again in the not too distant future.

GREAT trip, had a blast. Spent an hour and a half hosing all the mud off the heep yesterday then spen an hour cleaning it out of the gutter. Had a wheel barrel full of it to haul away - hahaha

Pix are at home should have them up soon.

Nice to meet everyone and nice to see some familiar faces. Bummer I had to bail early. Look forward to seeing everyone again.

I had a great two days enjoying the park and really liked seeing all the XJ's. It was really nice for boatwrench to stop on the way out and have him tell me where most of the NAXJA rigs were playing. I too lost CB contact with everyone and couldn't seem to raise anyone on the radio and put the antenna away. Gotta get a short one for Hollister. I had fun on all the trails. Especially truck hill and playing in the crack there with BigRed, Crawldaddy, John and the Tincan. It's nice to know an XJ will still run on it's side. :gee:

Camp was really nice and Crawldaddy made an awesome dinner and John an awesome breakfast. Day two the frametwister was really dug out and quite challenging and fun to cross. White rock gave me white knuckles and was a great way to end the day. Had a super time. I look forward to the next NAXJA event and hope to meet a few more NAXJA members then. party1:

I had a great time out there with everyone. I even had fun muddin' in the mud pit and watching everyone else who went muddin'.
