For 1500 I would have two midgets welding :eyes:
I don't understand why so many people have ballast issues. they don't like heat and they don't like getting smacked while they're energized, as long as you have them mounted securely they should last years. The set that is in my wife's car is going on 5 years old, the ones in my offroad lights lasted 4 years till the ballast came loose and went into the mechanical fan but that was my fault for poorly securing itI've only had 4 ballasts either bad out of the box or go bad over the 4 years i've been installing tony's kits... and it's been over 100 kits.
:dunno:
On my wife's van they were stuck down pretty securely inside the bumper just below the headlight but we could never get the flicker to go away. I exchanged ballasts but the flicker stayed on that light. It seemed to go from low to high randomly and vary in color.I don't understand why so many people have ballast issues. they don't like heat and they don't like getting smacked while they're energized, as long as you have them mounted securely they should last years. It was an obvious flicker while driving, It was like I had multiple temp bulbs, it tended to flicker purple, blue, white, and yellow. It was odd. But, Dodge's are also apparently odd with HID kits. The wiring in the van was opposite what the kit had and had to be figured out then switched on the kit.the light on HIDs is produced by an arc inside the bulb, not a filament. some flicker as the arc moves inside the firing chamber of the bulb is common and not a defect.
I have the Hella E-Code housings and Hella 85/110 bulbs well worth the money until I can get some LED headlights on the cheap
So its ok to blind people with HIDs but not with incandecents?
legal limit is 55w for low beams, you're blinding people just as bad as HIDs do because your jeep is lifted.
