Heres what I did today...

This buildings gardens looked like a jungle this morning

My shorts were about dripping with sweat they were that soaked, started pouring at 3 and I just stood in the parking lot......it was that kind of day

yup... some retard decided today would be a great day to weld in full sun.

But at least I'm damn close to having a shop press!

Just need to add the return springs and it's basically done.

Zooming in I see at least two kids trapped inside the house

They aren't trapped, they are free to leave anytime.

that second one is a "wheres waldo".
Technically it's one beer bottle and one cider bottle I guess... but yeah I had to check if it was actually visible before posting that :looney:

I probably should put some feet on the press, it fell over last night while I was working on it and nearly flattened me. I think it weighs like 250lbs.

i helped my boss put a comlete xj drivetrain into his m715 today. he used a 94 xj 4.0 aw4 bolted to a dana 300 (to make it pass drop). just used and entire xj harness to wire it all in. The truck runs drive and stops. All thats left is to clean out the harness of unneeded crap. The xj drivetrain fits in there like a glove. I will post pics asap.

A 91 through 92 or 93 would have been a better choice, but either one works, really. If you have a code 15 popping up (no VSS signal) grab the VSS out of an 88-93 Dakota, combine it with a custom speedo cable or an adapter (you can find that adapter on one end of the VSS under the instrument panel in a cruise equipped RENIX XJ) and slap it all in, you'll probably need either a 2N3904 transistor and a couple resistors or possibly just a resistor or two to convert the Dakota VSS to the 3-wire XJ VSS signal. I'll let you know in a week or two when a friend of mine brings his 87 YJ back here for more work, I used a 94 XJ harness/computer to do a swap on his too, it was an e-carbed 4.2 originally.

I didn't think it'd affect things significantly but it does actually run better without that code coming up as the ECU can detect when the vehicle's still rolling, so shifts are a bit better (more of an issue on a manual, I used an AX15 for his setup. It would bog and try to stall a little when you stabbed the clutch to upshift.)

And I want pics. Really I want the M715, but I have too many projects and not enough money already.

I bought a fuel cell, for $30. It's nothing like what I had planned to use for a gas tank, in any way. But it was $30...

I also pulled a fuel pump and sending unit from a ford van. I'm going to cut a whole in the tank and shove it in there. It's like an inch too long but easy to shorten.

Has it's own rubber seal already.

Pretty smart RIGHT!?

Are you going to put the customary handful of leaves in the cell before bolting the sender in?

who cares about the fuel system? even if it runs you never drive it. I think it looks great just sitting there next to the shop overgrown with weeds, why waste the effort?

What are you talking about!? This whole set up is going in my butt.

Good call Ken I'll shake the wiring harness too
do you want to borrow my oscilloscope (jfyi I actually found a wiring issue by shaking the harness a while ago)
