Heres what I did today...

Yesterday picked up some sheetmetal for a little rust repair.

Looks like part of an XJ quarter to fix an MJ bed...? can't wait to see how that comes out! So many good beds out there that just have some rot over the fenders.
 
2 door XJ quater section, the rust over the wheel is the only rust on the whole MJ the floors don't even have any rust. I hope to have it fit up sometime this week.
 
New tailgate on the MJ (bought it from OverlandZJ years ago!) finally. It's amazing to be able to just swing the tailgate closed instead of having to slam it, punch one side, then wiggle it to make sure it latched.
 
Spent the weekend overhauling the front end in my DD red jeep. Pulled the whole 30 out, fabbed up new LCA and TB mounts on it since the stock sheetmetal ones were trashed and ripping off. Boxed in the UCA mount and coil buckets too. Found out my upper ball joints were loose too, replaced all 4 BJ's. Popped new UCA bushings in too. Installed some RE superflex UCA's, had to torch out one of the stock arms that was frozen in place. Changed over to a JKS trackbar, changed thier setup a little bit on the frameside Johnny Joint. I swapped out the modded center ball with a 9/16 bolt and the taper cone to an uncut center ball with a 5/b bolt. Drilled the stock frame TB mount out to 5/8 to match. Installed as new Crown HD steering setup too, new draglink and a ZJ V8 tierod. The front end feels much more solid now, I still wanna get some nice Bilsteins in there too someday.


I forgot what it was like taking on a big project and not having a backup jeep. Busted my ass more then I wanted to both days so I could have everything done and the jeep ready to drive to work tomorrow morning.

bed lined the interior floor. stripping the floor was a pain kind of. put chromoly Yukon shafts in the 60. replaced a wheel bearing. cut out the rockers to make way for 2x6 rockers and bought 2x6.

crap that would have taken me 3 weekends at least, ninja mechanic....

Found out the hard way the gas gauge in my CJ-7 isn't accurate...on my way to the gas station...about 1/2 mile away.
