Heres what I did today...

To the sheetmetal unibody.

Maybe it will work fine...but it just seems weak to me.

Claytons stuff is just welded to the sheet metal unibody. Although, it looks like the LCA mounts are tucked inboard a bit more than Claytons (not that it matters, just something I noticed..) Bill- Did he cross-brace on top of the frame LCA mounts back to the unibody?

I'll feed the fire: Travis never had problems with his and it saw plenty of hard wheeling trips.

I don't think he did andy. We were talking about putting crush sleaves in the frame and wrapping it around with bolts goimg the whole way thruough but all the fuel lines were right there so we didn't bother with it. The crossmember is actually a 2x4 where claytons is 2x3. Claytons end pieces are also compltely cut out on the bottom side where as we left metal around the link mounts to provide more strength. I'll be putting it to the test at nac fest so we will see how it goes.

Looking good there, Bill - can't wait to hear how it works on the trails.

So I guess the next mod is a body lift for the garage? :eyes:

nope since I am lowering the lift down to 4.5" instead of 8" i should be good.

did my front bump stops and tow hooks. this is how i get my coils out.

today i fixed my tranny line leak as soon as i finished it blew the low coolant line. so i fixed that and called it a day and started getting ready for work.

Got the unitbody rails cleaned up and primed for stiffeners. Used a knotted steel wheel on the grinder and ended up having to take a shower afterwards before going back out to finish. Damn that's a nasty job.
