opened up my tailbone tire carrier and it just snapped right off, NOT happy about it, good thing there are tons of them out there i can get spare parts for  it's basically all my fault so not bashing detours at all

I got most of the wiring figured out for my new seats... just confused as hell because I can make the lumbar go out but can't get it to go back in :dunno: Whatever, I'll figure it out eventually. Just going to weld up some brackets and bolt them in as-is for now. Also got floor pans and most of a lift in my buddy's '93.

funny, I never noticed that slinger on there when I tore down the last 4.0 I had apart.

I was putting the bearing cap back in and thought it could use some RTV right at the corners around the seal, so I added a little.
Come to find out the FSM says to put it on the ears of the RMS itself (the lower half that sits in that cap).
So hopefully the little I added was close enough to the right spot to not leak all over the place.

Question though... that light scoring on the crank? Run it till it explodes? or consider swapping the bearings? The bearing that came off there had a light score to match...

It depends on how bad the scouring is. If its where the seal seats and its bad enough it will leak. If you used the double lip seal you will probably be ok. Unless your crank is like mine and will just let copious amount of oil pass through. To the tune of about a quart an hour.

Damn, I didn't even think of scoring at the seal, I meant scoring at the bearing.
But I'm goin on day 2 with no drips, so hopefully it's good enough at the seal.
I really should have done the valve cover too so I can really tell if it stays dry, but wasn't expecting this to be a 5-6 hour ordeal. So. Much. Scraping.
Ah well...

That's scoring? Shit, it looks fine to me. :gee:
