Stock class rules are fairly restrictive, which makes some things interesting to figure out. We're limited to 35" tires. We can't cut or trim the frame or body panels except to build the cage and a little in the wheel wells. We can't have more than 2" of room above the tire at full stuff. We can't run any shocks or suspension components through the frame or body. No frame or body modifications are allowed, other than to run a cage and to add reinforcements. We are allowed to run half doors or tube doors, and we can cut down the hatch to some degree or build a tube hatch. We're not required to run any glass, but we do have to run the stock headlights and taillights.

We must have all the regular Ultra4 class safety equipment, so race seats and five point harnesses are required, roll cage, rear facing stop lights and amber light, bladder type metal fuel cell, and the proper vents on everything.

I'm wondering which forum is best for a build thread?

Is it still gonna be Petty Blue?

not completely related but... does anyone else think it would be cool if these guys partnered up with the 2JZ supra motor guy and ran an xj with a boosted import motor thru KOH? i do... lol

i don't think any of us like unicorns quite enough for that.

also, class rules require us to run an engine block available in our year/make/model, and require it to be naturally aspirated.

believe you me, we will have more than enough power. Russ Pottenger is pulling no stops on this engine build. and rightfually so.. I borrowed this car from him for the Petty Cash/Naxja combined race effort, and when we're not racing it - it is still his car. ;) we do plan to compete in more than just KOH with this rig, and are going all in for the long term investment.

Mod tech or Picture forum.... I'd say picture forum and keep it updated. Need something to breath some new life into it.

Maybe the moderators will allow us to post in a couple of different forums..... :D

If most folks are like me, I only look at a couple forums regularly. It's hard to reach everyone around here with as big as we are.

Like Cal said, the class won't allow turbo or supercharging, but I think Russ will get plenty of power out of this motor, he should know how to do it. I'm really looking forward to driving it with the motor he's building. :)

We need more pics... What's the plan!?
Build thread coming soon! We've got a massive pile of parts to install, thanks to our amazing sponsors, many of which are also NAXJA supporters.

Is it still gonna be Petty Blue?
Yup, going to be a clone of the road racer, except 4WD...and some other minor differences. Here's a photochop of what it will likely look like:

Just a reminder for those voting on our number, it has to be a 46XX number, i.e. 4643 (so stop suggesting 6969 ;))

T-shirts, hats and other apparel coming soon:

pay any associated fine and use 0331 :explosion

Hahaha, that would be funny. It's more an issue of the car not getting recognized by spotters as it goes through checkpoints. It would suck to win, but not get the trophy because we used a number that was too hard to read or not in the correct format.

Maybe I'm just missing something, but is there some sort of signifcance to #430 other than that is the lemons racer's number? I mean, did you guys pick that number for the road racer for some reason in particular? Might make it easier to make suggestions for the new number if we know the history of the old number...
