Well on a kingpin FORD (will take chevy though and add the .5 inch right?) I need the following diamensions. I tried search here and it alwyas just seems to time out if you even mention dana 60 at all.
This would be with all stock parts hopefully or if you have non stock thats fine also.Or better yet if someone has a website or page that has this info, even better.
Thanks
Basically need:
WMS to inside edge of Inner C.
WMS to outer end of hub or drive flange or locking hub.
Ujoint CL to WMS
and if poss. Ujoint to outside edge of hub.

Take a look at the picture in this link: http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8IbtGzVo3bMmk
It shows dimensions of my 44/60 axle, but the dimensions for the Ford D60 outer parts are the same as any Ford Dana 60. Keep in mind that the dimensions may not be exact. I seem to remember getting some slightly different numbers later in the build when I had all the parts on hand. These dimensions are close though. Also, if you can't read the text on the drawing at the photo hosting site, I can email it directly to you if you pass on an email address. Jeff

I would give you my numbers but..........they were off a little and I ended up about 1/2" wider per side than I had planned (no big deal) :dunno:

I would assemble stuff partially (REALLY easy to do with a king pin) and take measurements.

Another option would be to buy all the parts from one vendor (i.e. Solid Axle) and then they can provide you with accurate measurements.

This is something from Crackers over compensation thread. I can't vouch for the accuracy of the numbers, but this may be beneficial to you. Jeff

EDIT: Just read Crackers comments. Oh well. Jeff

Well thats not the issue. Its ordering the currie front. IF I can get the over all tube end to tube end right that would be great to order dead on. But I doubt that was going to happen.

So Now I was just looking for how much sensible tubing should be left over for cut off, dont want Way too much if I can help it and dont want to little.

Then comes the wheels. Thats why I am asking for the WMS out to edge of hub. That way I can see if a 8" wide with 4"BS will protect the hub any or if that will let it hang out there in space.

As for that over all end to end Avery.. That picture. Was that little less then actuall or more?

Thanks

It came aout a little more than what I had hoped for. I ended up at 66"

When looking at that, don't forget that the HP 9" has a different pinion offset than a HP 60.

You going coil overs or air shocks? You may want to considering space will be an issue between the diff and the drivers knuckle
