Help needed! NE ohio

ive finally accumulated all my parts for my lift. a 5.5 rubicon express long arm lift with an SYE and TW driveshaft. i have no experience working on jeeps and dont really think i have the tools necessary for the job and was hoping that some of my fellow XJ'ers could help me out with the install!

the parts have been sitting in my garage for about 3 months now, and so far everybody who was supposed to "help" has flaked. ive called a few shops who deal with off road vehicles and they quoted me from 600-900$ and thats if everything goes smooth. i dont have that kind of money to spend on installing the kit so i passed.

if anybody wants to get together for a lift party i could buy food and beverages and possibly throw you some cash, i really need to get this lift on.

i live around the mayfield area in the east suburbs of cleveland if anybody is close.

Hey, im from west side of cleveland ( old brooklyn area.)

Just curious to see, is it the radious arm long arm kit or the drop bracket kit. Also - what tools do you have - it doesnt really take to many unique tools.

its the radius long arm, i have a craftsman 16-something piece tool kit, one jack, and i had 4 jackstands but they have disappeared ha.

i can get ahold of a bunch of tools though if needed.

ok so we didnt get much done today. we started on the rear, got all the U-bolts off, got the axle off, and managed to get one leaf spring bolt out. the other 3 are completely seized in the bushing sleeve and wont let go.

if anybody has any spare time and would like to lend a hand with these, or if you have a cutting torch we can borrow to cut the rear shackles and the front bolts out it would be great :helpme:

FINALLY, got some progress today. a friend brought over his torch and we cut out the leaf springs.

next step is to go to the stealership and buy 6 hardened bolts and nuts, and put the rear end back together. ill get some pictures up tomorrow, unfortunately i did not really document anything because i wasnt thinking about it at the time. but from now on i will post pics as chris and i tackle the rest of the lift.

and by the way, BIG thanks to chris (C85D4x4) for helping me out so much on this, i wouldnt have gotten this far without a ya.

lift is all done, all thats left is the SYE and install the rear driveshaft, and some minor trimming on the belly pan to prevent it from rubbing against the T-case. BIG thanks to chris for basically dedicating his past week and half to helping me get my jeep done. next step is to get my tow hooks installed, some tires and rocker protection and i will be joining you guys out on the trail!

Don't forget to splurge and Go red! It is membership month :gee:

no worries i have that on my to do list as well. but spending money on the jeep to get it all done is the #1 priority for me right now. weds i get the SYE installed by on and off road, and i will be ordering my tires from him then.

pics will be up in a lil bit once i figure out how to get them off my phone.

ps. just dropped it off at on and off road to get the SYE installed. should be done by tomorrow afternoon. next step is to fix my steering, the camber i have is insane, i was looking at it yesterday and it looked like my wheels were gonna fall off.

Give me a call tomorrow, drive it over to my house and I will help you do an a alignment. Also bring that trac-bar support too so I can copy the passenger side mount.

here is the first picture that i managed to upload onto flikr. its being a real pain in the ass and its not letting me upload a bunch off my phone, only this one uploaded. more to come haha.

also i spoke to bob today at on and off road and i think im going to get a set of trxus MT's in 33x12.5x15 for now until i can save up enough to upgrade axles and lockers.
