HeepSpeed's FINAL Mojave Road Trip thread

Sorry guys - but the planning thread got too confusing with dates and such...

Ever wanted to get away from it all? Leave worries behind? I do and I like to do it where I can camp, explore new areas and see things I've never seen before!

So come run the Mojave Road from April 24-26 in conjunction with people from NAXJA and Expedition Portal

This trip is not for the light at heart. Your vehicle needs to be ship shape!

My personal requirements for attendees:
1. Adventure Spirit
2. Water containers for 3 days (there are no "pit stops" on the road)
3. No BS - fighting in the desert is a nono with the Adventure Brigade...unless against the dog.
4. No heavy drugs...PM if you have questions.
5. Interest in history (we have books and stuff and will be stopping to read about what we're looking at)
6. ENVIRONMENTAL RESPECT - DO NOT go off trail.
7. Recovery - Including tow rope, recovery points front and rear, CB radio (optional), jack, FULL SIZE spare tire, tire repair kit (optional), air compressor (optional), TOOLS
8. Current Registration.
9. 5 or more gallons of extra fuel (carried safely)

There will be more posted as I gather info and what not, but yea

Plan so far is the drive out to the trail head to camp on Friday night after work. We will work out details of who is coming when, but basically there will be a Saturday departure time that you need to be there for.
Then run the trail and explore Saturday-Monday with an overnight camp and book it back to Los Angeles (for me) on Monday evening/night.

If you need to bug out early, the trip was planned Saturday Sunday so that those who need to go back to work on Monday will still be able to run a lot of the trip and be happy! Just keep in mind that this trip runs SATURDAY 9am departure to MONDAY night!!!!

note: This is not a rock crawling trip...just a desert adventure (stock vehicles welcome!!!! and FAMILIES OK as long as you're good with the average 25yo shenanigans....)

Some questions have already been answered in the feeler thread here and here

DO NOT add your name to the list unless you are 100% GO. You can say maybe...but don't add maybes to the list.

Hmmm...now that that weekend is free.

The desert is starting to green up. there was quite a bit of water on Soda Lake. You may have to consider routing around it.

Pencil me in for two rigs. I hope you're making margairtas again. ;)

Karen & I are tentatively in, in her rig (since mine still likes to get warm at slower speeds). She's stock height but has rock rails and balls of steel. =)

Hey, what a coincidence!!:D I was just talking about my Jeep... she (Cali) gets warm at slower speeds...

I got nothing for this weekend, and its right around the time the cast is supposed to come off.

So, if I can walk, on my own, I'm in. Will be great to get out of the house.

Maybe...

Since SoCal Fest isn't happening then the weekend is free now. Just gotta decide then figure out what Jeep to drive and load the trailer.

I just picked up the steel to build the frame for my trailer yesterday and looking to buy a better welder soon so i might have it all done in time.

I got a 12V fridge and 3000W pure sine wave inverter for free...

I still need to decide on the design, but ill make a new thread and not high jack this one.

i might be in,i just did this trip last year, it was a blast and would like to do it agin with some new people.
