HD Tie-Rod Needed...

wow, thread hi-jack!

1.25" DOM gives you a bit more clearance in the steering than the 1.50". I gotta thing that matt's solid chr-mo is the way to go, but you have to be able to drill/mill the end of it and this tough to do. I just built another steering useing the 1 ton TRE's, .250 wall DOM and the weld-in inserts.

www.rockequipment.com is the address for Tony.

My Rusty's steering failed catostrophically for me last year. If was on the highway when the crappy welds failed, my wife and I might have been killed. That's all i have to say about that topic. I trust what I can build more than just about anything else.

I used 1.125" DOM with a .25" wall. I then drilled it out a bit and tapped it. (I have a left hand and right hand 3/4" taps at work).
It worked pretty decent but weld-in inserts would have been easier.

SV1CEC, I sent you an email
