Has anyone built a 2wd jeep like a sand rail?

A stroker is barely more than a rebuild. You can build your stroker as mild or as wild as you'd like. The main extra costs from what I understand are the pistons, crank and boring the cylinders.

hey mikey i just had most of the parts you need for a stroker but gave them to dustins mom lol. as for a dune buggy xj i say do it. if it works give me a ride lol

I'd scare you to bad to give you a ride in the dunes :). .. Everyone out there that weekend acted like a bunch of lil b****es(you were gone gettin your mom) and just watched me shoot bowls and jump dunes unintentionally. I hate that their only excuses were "we don't have enough gas, we're sitting almost on empty"... No more beach trips for me with those guys. My next trip will be with Jeremy and all of his FJ guys, maybe they will know how to have a good time.

LOL ya whatever. I was only running 3 shocks and wasnt planning on wheeling at all. then broke my damn exhaust lmao. we need to go out there with jeremy and see how he wheels out there. might be fun then lol

Yeah but any sort of trip involving those lames will be on my terms... It will be a calico bash all sorta deal.. Must get some Body damage or dont bother to show up to camp, those primadonnas are afraid to scratch their toys...

SMH.... why is body damage a must? Ive been through calico with no body damage. I may tear off shocks, break drivelines, and what ever else but even I dont like body damage. Take it easy on them man. they are still new. Why go on blast in a forum about them?

That's what I'm meaning body damage... Scratch up some sliders/lower control arms/get some rock rash on the wheels/drag some axles... Casey's no where near "new" he's quite the veteran wheeler with his previous toyota. I won't say anything on here that I won't say to their face. I don't keep my sack in a purse when my girls around...

Body damage usually refers to the body of the vehicle, not lower control arms and sliders that is probably where the confusion came from.

Saw a guy and his wife at glamis a couple years ago in a 98 xj. He was running 4 desertraks with a 4 in long arm kit. The back hatch and doors were on it but no glass but the windshield. It was caged with no carpet, door panels, and only the front seats. The only other thing inside was a cooler. He had 4:88s and desert traks are 32" and some change. Stock drivetrain not even an exhaust. It was hauling ass and going where ever he wanted. Its all about floation and weight to hp. I think with some agressive gears, maybe a 5 speed and a diet (ac, glass, window motors, back hatch, etc) you could have fun in a 2wd paddled xj. I also have seen a early 80s f150 with a sick (not flatbiller sick) engine railing the big dunes. They had gutted it to the frame, left enough cab to put seats and switches in and was doing jst fine with stock suspension. Low HP=low weight
