With stripper clips they aren't that bad. But swapping out for a 20 or 30 round loaded mag is better or even just a 10 rounder here in CA is better then pulling it back and using a stripper clip. By full-auto I meant holding the trigger once and all the rounds would go flyin. But who needs a drum mag to go hunting............................I guess it all depends on what you go hunting for :scared:

My SKS has a fixed 10 round (or a fixed 20 round I can swap in), but it has the grenade launcher attachment on the muzzle, so Kalifornia says it's illegal. Like anybody's gonna be able to find grenades for it anyway! I also took off the bayonette and put on a Draganov style stock.

Just checked with the forest service. All "free" shooting areas in the san bernardino national forest have been closed. They are refering everyone to the pay sites. :nono: :bs:

Really? I coulda sworn that ane off the 330 I pass by every day on my way to work is still open. I'll stop tomorrow and check it out. They may have just closed it for the 4th.

Ok, this thread has gone on for over a month and nobody has posted any dates or places. Come on guys let's get it together. (The only reason I haven't planned it is because I have only been to BC109 once and do more indoor pistol shooting anyway) But I haven't shot a rifle or a handgun for a few months anyway.

Lockwood, I have been really busy. I want to go back up to BC109, but I still need to switch my disc brakes from my old 8.25 to the newer geared one I have. Plus work has me so busy, I dont have time for SH!T.
Seems every weekend in the summer months are booked for one reason or another!

I checked the area between the first and second passing lanes off 330 tonight. The gate's open, but unfortunately there's a big sign posted saying that the area is closed for target shooting.

Oops. I brought a pigeon thrower to JV and shot about 130 shells.

It sounds like fun. My brother knows a spot out in the Desert that's supposed to be leagal and were going to make a run this month to check it out; I'll post here when I know for sure. I can get my brother's Remington 1100 although it's not perfect for clays it works. He and I shoot 3 gun action matches and he shoots service rifle matches and we have re settable steel targets for the action match type shooting. If we can find a spot we can bring the shooting gallery that dosn't make a mess

West end gun club still hods them as well as a few others. I use to shoot them would be more accurate; since they closed south cost and Elsinore gun clubs I haven't done many competitions.
