Well the old XJ and I tagged our first deer last night.
the result was a nicely destroyed plastic grille, one out of whack foglight (thich I haven't bothered to use in forever) and that was about the extent of the damage. I was only going about 40mph, on snow covered roads, so I managed to slow down a fair amount before hitting her.
So now I'm in the market for a replacement grille. I'll start calling around for parts in the next couple of days. Since I have an 86, what grilles will fit, by my poor memory, up to an 89 ought to bolt right in, right?

My drivers seat is doing the typical lean back maneuver. I've had it welded, but it is time for a new seat If I'm going to keep the XJ around too much longer. Anyone know of a replacement source for OEM style seats which fit the XJ brackets?
She's got 201,000 miles on her 2.8L (yes 2.8, the 4.0's started the next year as you may recall), and while the body is in excellent shape, the drivetrain needs some work. I've got a U-Joint going, and I'm debating about trading her in for a younger cherokee, IF I can find one and get it financed.
