Government backs of on land seizure

The government makes you an offer and if you dont like it, they still take the land and give you less than the orig offer. My grandmother had her house taken quite a few years back, and my brothers gf's parents just had theirs taken for a freeway to be built.

on the way out of manchester, UK, there was a house in the middle of the freeway. It split 100yds on either side, and there was a small overpass for the driveway.

The tour guide explained to us that in the UK they do not have ED and when the owner refused they had to bypass his property. Maybe one of the UK members can confirm this?

ED had been used in the past few years with a vengeance, many developers who have govt and elected officials in their pockets decide to do a project and their bribed employees get right to work. New London Ct was the most publicized, that was one or two years ago. Happens all the time, just most don't get national coverage.
