got my RE1660 trackbar and bracket today

I have those installed. I do recommend tightening those up not only when you first install it, but after your first off-road trip.

Mine seems to come loose on occasion as you can hear the occasional popping when turning, etc.

I just have to keep tightening it.

so, it's been on a few weeks now and I've had a weird "bump" in the steering, you can feel it in the wheel and hear it clunk when stopped, got under the front end and had someone work the wheel and it appears that the RE trackbar mount slips back and forth on the elongated bolt holes.

Would the brace fix this? Should I have someone weld the brace on to the "frame" that it sits on?
the 4 bolts are as tight as I can get them, that's for sure.

I got tired of tightening the hardware so I finally welded the trackbar in place.

Probably what I'll have to do, one good tighten and have someone weld the bracket and tack the bolt heads so they don't back out I guess.

any volunteers with a welder? lol.
I'll even knock the grunge off first :)

wish I had been quick enough to get the used one a certain someone her was selling. Oh well.

it's not just the popping but it wonks the steering up a little too- I guess from the axle shifting 1/4" or something but it's a little unnerving going around corners, lol.

Funny thing is I just came in the house from welding mine on and adding a plate up to the bumper bracket. If you clean it up I'll weld it up for you.

Just make sure it's not greasy where it need welding. I have grinders and stuff to knock the paint off. I just flew to Albuqerque for a quick job in the morning and then I have to get to Lincoln NE. for a job so depending on how fast i can get in and out of Lincoln maybe we can knock it out Friday or Sunday. Send me a PM with your # and we can work it out.
