Got a ticket for rolling-WTF any ideas?

It was all driver error but i am still allowed to not be stoked about the ticket. Either way i am alive and didny kill anyone so thats awesome. Rig is getting a ton of work like always
 
I dunno have you seen xcm? He looks like he'd be pretty warm at night, and that goatee would certainly tickle the sack a little.

I am almost ashamed of the number of times I have limped my rig home from the so-cal desert after beating the crap out of it in the rocks. 400+ miles of driving with no mirrors, missing windows, transmission ratchet strapped into place, leaning pretty far to one side due to leaf spring issues, 55 mph and in the slow lane makes for a long drive home. After the last trip out I bought a tow rig and parked the Jeep in the garage for an overhaul.


I for one appreciate your honest and open approach to this whole thing. You spend a lot of time working and fine tuning your rig, not every mod will work out like you hope. Shit happens, and you move on.

You ain't kidding there. I agree with Bryan. Crap happens, live and learn. But getting a ticket after rolling is pretty lame. Jon, who took the crash, CHP? Do the written declaration and if that doesn't work go to traffic court. Even if your found guilty the judge might reduce the fine.

Thank Bryan. I know exactly what you mean about limping the thing home from trips too. Coming back from our Reno run this year in May was downright frightening coming down 80 with some steering issues . And coming back from a slick run after that was just as bad.

I also hope folks learn from my mistakes as well as what works out well and maybe some headaches and money.

All single car accident are avoidable and this one is no different. That said the CHP dog piling on you for no good reason is just wrong Jon. I can see why you feel the way you do. Ask for the extension and write the declaration and take what they give you after that.

All in all it was a good experience in that you came out alright, no one was hurt, minimal damage to the rig, not overly expensive, six pages of conversation about jeep stuff and other unrelated issues, experience in dealing with the legal system and you now will make the necessary changes to make the silverback even better.

Oh and the references around the camp fire coming your way next year.....Priceless!
