Good experience with amazon.com

I just thought I would share a good customer service experience with amazon. I ordered 2 sets of car speakers from amazon and they were about half the price as the local best buy type places. They were sold by amazon and not some other vendor I should mention also, I had the option to save a few bucks by going with another "vendor". I choose to pay the extra and buy direct from amazon.

I used the free shipping because it's usually pretty fast for me and well free. They shipped using Ontrac who I have had issues with in the past. A past Ontrac shipment left california to Ohio to nevada to my home in arizona, not sure how that worked out. This time however, the packaged showed it was out for delivery on time when it then showed my address was incorrect and the street number did no exist. Well I have never had problems with my street address before so I go on an amazon help chat.

They responded instantly and informed me a 2nd shipment would be on it's way next day delivery with UPS. I got the 2nd shipment the following day without issue. Two days after that I found the Ontrac package left on my door with stickers all over it. It clearly said my street number did not exist, yet it was not corrected or altered in any way and some how delivered...

I was not asked to pay for the 2nd order and then wait to be refunded when the other was returned or any hassle. I didn't have to pay extra shipping or fees of any kind and they made it instantly right. In this day that sort of service especially with a massive company is awesome I think. Only downside, the person in the chat with me was named uzakajaaba or something like that :anon: .

Amazon is awesome, I try to buy stuff that is sold and shipped by them. The other sellers on there tend to take several days to process an order.

I have spent a lot of money with Amazon over the last couple of years, great service from them. A few months ago I bought a laptop from them, the day it arrived at my house it dropped in price by $50, I emailed them, and they said they dont have a price guarentee policy, but they would make an exception and give me a $50 refund. I saved $550 getting it through them instead of HP directly and got it in 1 day instead of 3 weeks. :kissyou:

My daughter's Kindle came out of its case with a cracked screen. I called Amazon to see about getting it fixed and they replaced it, minimal questions asked, free of charge.

Good local company. ;)

Amazon is pretty awesome, only issue I had was that they sent me the wrong muffler. They sent me a return postage label with the new muffler. And I sent the other back.

Side note: If you are a student or teacher and have a .edu e-mail address, you can get a year of amazon prime free.

I have been really tempted to sign up for Prime. It's like 70-80 bucks a year but free 2nd day shipping on all orders with no minimum purchase or something along those lines. I usually opt for the free shipping but some times I want my stuff quick. I keep trying to justify it to myself that it will pay for itself after ordering only a few things.

Don't forget the streaming video content, either. ;)

Wow, I didn't even know about that. I tend to be a snob now and only watch HD movies on bluray but this is tempting me further.

I've found the quality of their streaming (and netflix...depending on the movie) to be almost blu-ray quality anymore. Way better than it used to be and way better than DVD.

i forgot to cancel my prime membership after the free trial but it sure came in handy with the 3.99 NEXT day shipping, I will be renuing next month, just found out last week about the streaming movies and stuff and since my cable provider streams my computer to my tv i won't have to watch on my monitor anymore =)

I've saved probably a couple hundred easy on shipping with prime, above the membership fee

My problem is I don't have a set top box that can stream movies besides my PS3 and sony doesn't look to support amazon streaming.

wire your computer to your TV and do it that way, or check with your cable provider to see if they offer the service, my computer and TV are connected wirelessly by mine for free

the problem with amazon, is their privacy policy, they sell personal data just like facebook does.... walmart with a creepy guy fallowing you around watching what you look at. this is not a conspiracy.

welcome to the new economy... one that doesnt sell shit, and that'll collapse when companys stop caring about what americans want to buy next, which is coming.

In my older age I have cared less about doing that sort of stuff ha. I used to have everything wired and talking to each other now it's not just as exciting for me anymore, stick a bluray in and be done...
