Golden Mtn - Flog: Nov 12-14, 2010

Current status:
Jeep is running and should be good to go, but my right side LCA mount has wings and I'm not sure how good an idea it is to wheel it....may be cracked. I'm not sure if the new LCA mounts will be at RSOR in time for Tyler to get them welded on.

Also a minor concern is the fuel tank. Apparently the last cove trip made a huge impression on the tank, and my current capacity is unknown. All I do know is when the gauge shows under a 1/4 tank it will only take about 10 gallons. Surely it's not a 8 or 9 gallon dent, but I haven't pulled the plastic cover off the tank to look. So long as I keep it full, I should be ok though.

Only other concern is all the school work I put off earlier this semester while trying to get the Jeep back on the road. I may be able to get enough work done this week to consider myself mostly caught up in which case I'll be coming up for Saturday, but can't justify the whole weekend.

I guess what I'm saying is I won't really know until Thursday night whether or not I'll be able to make it.

your coming..... ;)

Speaking of fire....who's got wood???:flame:

I have a bit I will bring but it'll burn quick.

you guys have fun with out avon this year.. she s out of action after River Rock beat her cheeks and hickied her lip..
Bent tie rod, bent uppers, leaking rear brakes... but on the good side.. i slapped on a new coat of paint to cover the mud stripes .. its my way of waxing her...
I hope to ride with the gang next year, maybe before the 4th july thingy..
and where is Ghost in all this debacle?

Ahh... running out of time!

Still have stuff to do, to finish up my "xj progression 2.0" before the trip... I plan to do a write up on it, but not before the trip, gotta make use of my evenings...

L...ill see if I can gather some wood for the community fire, and do my part :)

Going to pickup my XJ from RSOR tonight. I can't wait to wheel it this weekend.

sweet!

FYI weather is looking up, been keeping track of the rain % and it went up for a couple days but looks like it will be moving on to sunday or monday, only a 20% and mostly clear sky for saturday. and 0% on friday. 30% on sunday.

im so stoked, i got my junk working good, just need to change out a lug stud and remount my tire when i get it back tonight or tomorrow. :D

still to do:
trail box setup
change out two tires on trailer
fix trailer wiring
gather camping gear
other odds and ends...

got my tire last night, mounted it on the wheel, just needs air now.

change out the lug stud on the rear and mount the wheels back on, and pack my camping junk.

picking up the suburban and trailer tonight, packing tomorrow, camping on friday, wheeling on saturday!

XJ is at home. I haven't had time to look at it much since we got home at 11:30pm from Chattanooga. Mark drove it and said it did great.

I need to pack it up and install some rear wheel spacers and I'll be ready to do some riding.

Mark and I will be arriving early Friday, probably around 9am.

So it looks like I will be heading up there Saturday morning and heading home Saturday night.

Big question is, what time does everyone think they'll be heading to the trails Saturday?

I hope to be there early afternoon Friday. Maybe make a late afternoon trail run to test it before I try anything crazy....

I plan on being on the trail by 8 AM Central Time (9 am Eastern) on Saturday. Probably be about noon before we get on the trail on Friday.
