Getting Rear coils in December.

Anybody say otherwise or wanna give me some tips? I could use some opinions. Here's pics of what I plan on getting.

Or should I get a coilover? Whats the difference? Besides the coils over the shocks.

And what's this for? I cant figure out how it works.

4 link is they way to go, im doing mine in the next few weeks, both of those top kits are chinky, coil overs are cool if you go through the floor and that bottom one is called a panhard i believe....ill post pics some time of the one im diong, its ome built and i will be using either stock xj front coils in the back or some 1.5 OME XJ fronts depending on how it sets....tried and true method, the front coils out back ride and flex amazingly

lol cant wait to see your build. and i was thinking about going through the rear floor and add hoops like the jeepspeed guys, but I need that cargo room.

I think thats awesome! I hadnt seen that before. The bottom pic has mulitple names..Y-link, wishbone, Triangulated 3 link, I'm sure theres more. Coilovers arent nessary but they do look cool. I dont know how much more flex you would get if any but I havent seen a need for them

Why am I doing it? Because I hate leaf spring setups. I just do. On a lifted vehicle anyways. They'd be ok if my XJ was stock, but it's not. It's cuz, i've ridden buggies for a long time, and I love how they handle and absorb every inch of terrain. Once you use gas shocks you never go back. And I'd like them in the back. I'm a racer at heart. I've been racing since I was 11 years old. I remember I stole my dads Harley motorcycle that year and spent the entire night cruising around DFW. I've been to the desert a few times and I fell in love with trophy trucks. So i'm turning my Jeep into one. lol. Like the JeepSpeed guys. Except, I have a different idea in mind. And also, because I do not have any other priority so I can invest all my time and effort into it.

lol. I thought theyre awsome too. And im not too worried about flex. I'll buy another rig to hit the rocks with. I'm goin to use this XJ for the desert and old backroads. They are like floating on clouds. I swear. :roll:

i think i'd go with a triangulated 4 link instead of those pics. mines eventually gonna get done but not for a while. only real difference your gonna get out of coilovers is your wallets gonna be missing around a $1000+ and that's for a cheap crappy set

And im not worried about spending. I dont have anything else to worry about. I get paid very good at my job and all I ever think about is my Jeep lol. I'll starve for weeks if I have to if I want something for my XJ.

And I found a nice kit for $2500. It's pricey, yeah, but it's nice. Looks like the one on the ORFab XJ.

a triangulated 4 link is close to that second pic you posted but instead of the lowers going straight forward to the unibody they would meet in the middle of the jeep prolly right below your rear yoke on your tcase. it takes alot of time and measuring to get it right but when it's done if it's done right it'll flex like a buggy. extreme 4x4 did a show on how to design and setup a triangulated 4 link. they might still have a link to it on there website so you can watch it

That sounds pretty long. Wouldnt it get caught up on obstacles?

I hae seen theres and it's really nice. Im lookin into it. But there's that one from T&T and the one from ORFab
