Gear party?

alright. Ill have to look into what else I would need to do the 8.25 gears and let you know if I want to borrow them. Thanks for the hookup

when we did mine we did an axle a weekend, plus i baught more than i needed and everything new, once ur in it u dont wanna be doin parts runs, and i know my axles r good all the way through and any new fixs will be external! i have a ring/pinion for a d44 rear i took out in good condition 4:10s for 50 bucks fyi!!

I've got all the tools that were necessary for setting up my 44 and 60 (probably Dana axles in general), but I've got very little time to provide any guidance. I just went from a few internet write-ups to setup my axles. Like BC said, it's not that hard if you just take your time! Anyway, you're welcome to borrow the tools. Just LMK!

Do you have the dials for checking backlash, bearing spreader, and press? Im trying to figure out what all I would need to pick up. I was planning to just take it to golden state motorsports but their first opening is March lol.

i may be hosting a meet & greet at my shop in the next few weeks.
possibly you could con someone into helping you install them here?
i have most of the tools needed.

That would be amazing! I will try to coordinate with Jeepfreak on everything else tool wise, I assume you have a press at your shop? Even if I can just get a front or rear done on a work day that would seriously cut down on my swearing in my garage.

yes, i have a press, dial indicators, gear marking yellow snot, a d-30 case spreader, & everything else needed to do....well, just about anything.
but i hate getting that messy, so you get to do all the dirty work.

just don't dump your used oil all over the ground & my snap-on floor jack ($$$) like the last bozo i let swap gears at my shop. he almost blew it for the everyone, i seriously was considering not letting anyone else but a couple close friends work on their junk in the fun factory ever again.
he didn't even apologize or help clean up. i was pissed but didn't say anything, i just cleaned up his giant mess myself.

Well i can tell you that wouldnt be me, i always try to keep everything pretty clean.

bring your junk to the meet & greet & con some poor soul into helping you install them. :gee:
