I'm picking up an 85 4runner to play with (always wanted one), and now i'm toying with selling the XJ.

It's a 98 Sport 4 door, aw4, 231, 8.25, 117k miles. power windows/locks, no cruise, no hitch, cold ac.

I bought it 100% stock, and added the following:

2" RE coil spacers/1.25 shackles with RE twin tubes and rear brake line. Basically a 2 inch RE BB with shackles instead of AALs in the rear.

30" BFG ATs...under 400 miles on these. Mounted on stock 5 spoke steelies.

factory tow hooks front/rear (3 hooks total)

factory 98 ZJ cd/tape player

AJ's 3/16 super rails, powdercoated flat black (not installed yet)

tint on all glass but the windshield

new custom 2 1/4 catback with super turbo dynomax muffler, no tip

carsound cat

It runs great, and hasn't given me any problems at all. Paint is good, a few nicks and dings here and there but nothing major.

What's it worth?

I would expect right arouns 5k for it. Thats about what Blue Book is.

Sell the rails seperately, they are worth more that way.

Unmolested with 173k orig miles. I need 4 door for my kids.....

I just picked up an '85, so I don't need another one :) But what are you asking for it? I might know someone who wants it.

not really looking to sell it but saw your post & thought I would ask if your into a trade..

Enjoy your 85, love my 86 except the IFS, them straight axles are hard to come by for a good deal....

If you're interested I can go $180 for the rails and pick them up Fri thru Mon. Let me know if interested.

Good luck!

PS, Don't ever sell the Toy. I had an '81 truck with a solid axle and still kick myself for selling it.

PPS. Ever heard of Northwest Offroad Specialties? The make a lot of quality parts for Toys.. Have fun with it.

Rails are now permanently attached to my XJ :)

$180 for a brand new set of rails that cost $265 shipped + 120 for the powdercoating would be robbery...no way id let them go for that. Up till last night they were still wrapped and on the pallet from Embee Performance.
