Lowest octane, which is 87 in Canada.Wow wish our gas was only 2 dollars. We are at 4.10 a gallon.
Yup. I just filled up at $1.029/L, that's about 3.895/gallon. This is the highest price I have ever seen. *sigh* remember the price wars in the mid eighties? I remember filling up my Camaro for 0.28/L.

I use 87 Octane from Shell, Exxon or Wawa which ever one is more convient at that time and has a slightly lower cost than the going outrageous rate.

BP regular (87) gets me the best mileage of low grade gas. I have tried them all from NC to Florida on the frequent trips I take. I do get better mileage from 89, but it is only worth it on the highway trips.

Shell - 89 octane. The 89 seems to keep my check engine light off a little longer than the 87.

PS- its going to the dealer for the 5th time!!! for the same missfire code
(cyl. #3). I think they just turn it off and send it back to me.

87 most of the time from the closest place at the time.

RE-xtremeXJ, Your misfire story reminds me of my $60.00 zip-tie. I bought my jeep used and it promtly stopped firing on #1 (or #6). I gave it the tipical tune up and it was good for a few days. Then it went bad again. I bought new spark plug wires again and still no luck. I took it to the shop across the street from my house and $60 later they told me that the harness on the fuel injector was cracked and was not making good contact to inject fuel on the #1 cylinder. They put a zip tie on it and said that they would order a new part at an inflated price. I paid them and told them that I would try to find a used one on my own. The zip tie is still there today 5 years later. No problems. Every once in a while I need to tighten it down a click or two. Just part of regular maintanence :laugh3:

stolen gas.........if it gets any higher lol.

Haha, yeah, What gas do I use? Whatever I'm siphoning out of the poor guy's tank parked next to me.

Out here there are no Chevrons....when I lived in Cali I got good gas at them.....out here I try to stick with Mobil although it's all a toss in the hat......most of the premium stations all get supplied from the same refineries anyway, so maybe I go to Sunoco to save a few cents a gallon over Mobil.....never needed anything more than 87 octane although occasionally I put in 91 (premium in NY) for shits and giggles.......

I so rarely get an opportunity to gloat, here it goes.

I live 8 miles from work, .2 miles from my kid's school, .5 miles from the grocery store in a quiet neighborhood with so many trees I never realized one of my coworkers lived behind me until I gave him a ride home. All this means I can go 2 weeks on a tank of gas with no extraneous trips.

The Mom&Pop half way to work got bought out by another Mom&Pop, and now has the cheapest gas (and beer) prices in town.

My '99 rarely sees more than 3500' of elevation and loves 87 octane. I get a pretty consistent 20 mpg without kayaks strapped to the roof. It's an 60miles to the nearest trails, but it all evens out.

Yes, I'm a complete bastard.
