Garrett's build thread

Re: Work party Temecula

Thanks for the compliment Kayle!

John, the plan is to pretty much cut off everything from the windshield back, and from the floorboard up! It will almost be a buggy... But thank you for the offer!

What I need is a tube bender! I'm trying to stomach spending $700 on a new bender!

I'd be interested in getting a group bender, 4 or 5 of us chip in and use it when we need it? Truth is I'd probably only use it once like most of the rest of us.

That's the issue, but the good news is you can turn around an sell the thing for almost just as much as you paid for it, sometimes more!

I will most likely purchase one and loan/rent it out. I know of a few people I wheel with regularly that are looking to do bumpers, cages ect.

Re: Work party Temecula

I'm in the same boat. I see an exo cage in my future but can't bring myself to spring for the $$ bender. Keep me in mind if you get some guys together for a group buy.

LOL

I guess you haven't priced out DOM yet either. The bender isn't the only 'painful' purchase. :laugh2:

Re: Work party Temecula

What size dies are you planning to get?

And i'm totally in for a rental fee when i'm ready to cage.:yelclap:

Looks like I am going to get the 1.75", 180 degree die.

I priced 1.75, .120 wall DOM at about $4 per foot. I still want to price out 1.5", but I think I am going to stick with the 1.75 since most of the jeep now will be tube.

Re: Work party Temecula

I can just picture the mom shaking her head as she's loading her kids into the minivan next door watching you too hack up that thing.

Looking good, this is fun to follow.

They stopped talking to me on a regular basis in April!! I have had a car torn up in my driveway every month since then.

The lady did almost throw up as she drove by a few weeks ago... I don't know why!!

I'm giving them a weekend off tho this weekend!! They'll be happy about that!!
