is what it boils down to. 9's are a dime a dozen, my friends use them so I have parts avaliable on the trail if needed I also paid 418.00 for the bronco that I got them from then turned around and sold the bronco for 400.00 without the running gear :D :D

And the ford 9" is stronger and can be modified with 31, 35, or even 40 spline axle shafts and nodular 3rd members for added strength. Just like a chevy 350 can be built from mild to wild, can a ford 9". Sent you a pm Lee about when/where to meet Saturday.

Ford 9" is stonger? You tryin to start a ****ing match? I was just asking because his name is crazy4mopar. I think the 8 3/4 is just as good, if not better than the 9".

The 8 3/4 is as good, but the 9" offers more in the way of aftermarket parts

Just stating the facts. The 8.25, 8.75 etc etc never have or will have the aftermarket availability of dana axles or a ford 9". That's why I got a xj dana 44 setup with a detroit and 4.56 gears when I had a 29 spline 8.25 open with spare axle shafts, no slip locker to put in etc. I just want something that I knew was a good axle and could be built even further in the future with aftermarket parts. Saying this, the 8.25 does hold up reasonably good and with the 29 spline shafts in the later models isn't that far behind dana 44. Just the locker and gear availability is limited and it is still a c-clip axle.
