Chad, this is the bumper you built for me and had it mocked up on your rig so yes I believe it will fit the early ones as well.

Do the frame tie-ins attach at the steering box bolts? What size tubing was used? Approx. weight?

Yes they brace the steering box and it's 1.5x.120 wall tubing. Not sure on weight but it's no too heavy.
