Front DriveShaft spitting

Ok, next i'd inspect the rear driveshaft. While you have it off checking it out, play with the rear yoke, see if it and the pinion gear move up/down, in/out, etc. It sounds like you have a bad bearing somewhere, and you will have to look around until you find it.

Well, thats what you need to figure out. :) What you describe sounds like a bearing with too much play "moving" when not under load. The fact you hear it when letting off the gas but not on the gas leads me to believe its a pinion bearing (they show that behavior). Grab the yoke where your driveshaft bolts on, at the axle end, and try to move it around. See if it has even just a little bit of play. Pull the rear driveshaft and inspect it very thoroughly, check the ujoints and caps for damage and play, try to move the rear yoke around with the driveshaft off and check for any play. Have someone push the vehicle forward and back one inch while you check the yokes, see if that makes them move. Check the yokes at the transfer case as well, same thing.

Hello :NAXJA:, I'm here now.. I did look both f & R driveshaft, they both are fine - no foul play or anything else.. I drove over to my pop's place and let him drove my XJ to see if he can get the sound/noise out of my XJ..

he don't hear anything like that. But he telling me he did feel it clanging in the center. Wonder WTF is it? any idea? let me know.

how can we tell if TC fluid low?

Jeep have overdrive? my pop think they do.

You won't just clean the floor if it is bothering you , you could get a new seal but it will leak again .
