Frame Stiffeners

Need advice. In the process of putting on pass side stiffener and the uni body is pretty dented.
Question is, should I worry about the gap. I dont see it being a problem but would like to see what you guys think.
The gap starts below the weld.

I would cut a sideways slit in the middle of the radius with a cutoff wheel and then pound flat with a hammer then weld it.

x2 you dont want gaps between your stiffener and the frame

Thanks guys I will do that.

Nick, right now im just trying to save my frame from any more damage.
Axles are still a long time off.
