Is this more hardcore than the Rubicon/Hell Hole, etc? I think I could handle it. I love how easy it is to climb stuff now with the dual lockers. Before the Rubicon trip and now this Fordyce trip, I have never had dual lockers. It makes things so easy to the point of almost boredom. I still do enjoy the wheeling and the scenery. The Pres in the club I went with came 20 feet from a bear when he lost his degree shim & lower leaf on his spring pack of his yj. He walked the trail and found it about a mile or so from where we were and locked eyes with a bear. The area was very scenic, I still don't know why this area is called "Hell Hole", it is too nice to be called that. Was there a massacre or something there. I know you are doing the Fordyce trail, but was wondering if anyone was up to running it 2 weeks before, to get a little practice in before the official day. I know that others in the group have been getting their rigs together to the point that they might be able to do a run like this before the official Fordyce run. Who can/want do this run? By doing it on this day, we would get to use the trail before the big Sierra Trek caravan goes through the trail and makes it too easy. You know many people in the group are not that hardcore and need to stack rocks so their open diff'd rigs can get through. Looking back, I had fun, but wished I would have ran the Swamp Lake trail with you guys. The Hell Hole trail had a couple intersting spots, but was otherwise pretty mild. I need more hardcore stuff now that I have dual lockers and am set up. have a xj dana 44 as well and love the thing. Would it have killed Jeep to put this in all their jeeps? You really don't know what you are getting from a boneyard unless you open up the cover and look it over. The thing might not have any gear oil in there for all you know. Great find and a unbelievable price. Did you just happen on it when looking around the yard? Where you looking for a xj dana 44? I see them once in awhile up here in Sac. My bro got 1 for $300, I saw another 1 at that yard and posted it here, and a fellow

member got it for $250. We got to snag those things up when we see them. I wish you the best with the axle, it sounds like it might needs some new bearings, but it could be so many things.
