never fished silverwood. any good? wife has been wanting to take the 5th wheel and boat up there for a weekend trip. i hear its tough to get a spot on the lake as they limit the amount of boats and it fills up quik.
I rarely go out on Silverwood on a boat. I usually am in my float tube and I fish the cove at the back end of the lake. You have to hike in from the old entrance. When I have gone out on a boat I went mid week. Last time I was on a boat, their were only 2 other boats on the entire lake. I have occossionally been out there on the weekend and it can get rather crazy. Mid week is MUCH better.

cool thanks, ill tell the wife. mid week isnt a problem for us, but most people have to work, thats why i try and make it on weekends so i can meet up with folks.

Alright so I contacted the 7 Oaks campground are they are full this weekend. So we will not be using one of their spots to Bar-b-q. We are still gonna do the Mt. Home Village to 7 Oaks run and fish after. We are now just going to eat lunch at the little Restaurant in 7 Oaks. I will be doing some stream fishing but there are plenty of spots in that area to just pull up a cooler and chair and sit with a bell on your pole or just hang out and not fish at all. From what I can tell it looks like there is only two Jeeps for sure. Is anyone else wanting to join us? I don't want to accidentally leave someone at the trail head.
We talked about meeting between 8 & 9 am. I'm thinking sleeping in a little is sounding pretty good. I was thinking we meet at 9:00 am off 38 and the trail head. My son has been getting up earlier this week for some reason and I'm running low on sleep.
I fish the Santa Ana at least once a week from Early June to late August. I love fishing and it's real close to my house. When I go I will shoot you a PM.

Info: 9:00 am meet time off 38 and mtn. home village. Will take fire road into backside of Angeles Oaks and then take final trail down into the Santa Ana river area and have lunch at Seven Oaks campground.

Not gonna make it. Didn't pass smog this morning because I just reset the code. I guess you have to drive 70 some miles before it will clear completely. So, I drove it to work today and have to take it back in the morning.
Plus my daughters boyfriend wrecked her car last night, so I need to try to find her a new car this weekend.

I just got off the phone with my buddy Trevor who will be joining us tomorrow. I told him about doing some shooting while we are up in the hunting grounds. He is bringing a few of his guns and badly wants to join us on the trail section. He originally was going to meet us at 7 oaks for fishing and lunch. He can't meet at 9:00 but he can meet at 10:00 am. Are you willing to wait an hour so he can join us for the trail and shooting part? That still gives us plenty of time to do everything. You can call me on my cell in the morning anytime after 6:00 am.

I am thinking of taking a furlow day or two for each week so have 2 or 3 day work week. Let me know if u want to hit Silverwood (i dont have a float tube though so if u can recomend one and such would appreciate it and I can check BPS for them). I used to have a 17 foot Bass Tracker boat but had to sell it in my divorse . I like to stream fish as well. I will send u a PM with my number so i can know next time when u want to go out as i have been busy and not on here as much at the moment if know what i mean .

Had a great time today. We all caught multiple fish and the bacon cheesburger at the 7 Oaks Restaraunt was off the hook. Good suggestion Justin. To bad you couldn't be there. The Hunting Grounds were closed so we just took some back roads out into nowhere and did some shooting. I thought I would be a great shot, but I was rather terrible. I was all over the place with the 357. I finally was able to get a little more accurate with Steve's 9mm. I also want to get my new 12 gauge out soon and do some skeet shooting with it. We will have to do that again soon.
yeah that was great.. lol my mom wants to go next time lol... its been a long time since i had fished a stream and it was fun.. but the burger did make the trip!!! thanks for playing trail guide brad lol... and as far as u being a good shot... i challenge u lol

I have a clay pigeon thrower i picked up awhile back. Have not used it yet so let me know sometime this summer when u get out of school to see if the new 12 gauge is any good .
