fire road and fishing!!!

its true about fishing streams as being difficult and boring to some. but learning how can actually be quite rewarding.

After a few times out with Brad, not catching anything, falling in up to my head, scratching my legs on rocks all while being sober... I'll stick to my chair, pole holder and cooler on the shore or in a boat! It wasn't that it wasn't fun, anytime I can get up there and be out in the peaceful surrondings is great! Got to wander along the river and see a lot of stuff I never would have otherwise. I just don't have a lot of patience and prefer catching to fishing.

that's cool i love to fish for trout two. Man let me know the next time your going to silverwood I'll meet you out there to get some of the big bass i got a float tube and maybe the old man will let me take the bass tracker.

That would be awesome to take out a bass boat on Silverwood. My uncle used to own a bass boat and we went out on it all the time. After he passed away his son interited it and he is an arse. No more sharing the bass boat. I fish 2-3 days a week in the summer. I will shoot you some PM's when I go.

what is the adventure pass? is this something i need to be able to drive the trails?

You don't need to drive on the trails, but if you plan to stop and recreate along the trails or in the NF you will need one. I believe they are $30 for one yearly pass and an extra $5 will get you another pass for second vehicle. Don't quote me on the price, but that's how it works. You can pick it up at any ranger station, even at some local stores.

Your BAD luck. Ofcourse last year was a horrible year for fishing with the low waters, dramatic decline in stocking numbers, and horrible rain fall. This year should be epic. Waters are high and the stocking amounts are supposed to be 3-4 times higher in the streams.

u only need the pass if your gonna stop and explore. if your gonna run straight through then u dont need one...

i hear ya man. thats why i mentioned the crickets for bait. i walked up and down those streams and got skunked so many times. then saw a guy catching em in the same spots i went. saw he was useing crickets, so i asked if i can buy just one off him. he said no and walked away. (what an ars) so i caught a wild one in the brush, walked over to were that guy was and caught a nice brookie with the first dunk. i was actually just resting and cooling the trucks brakes that day, so i stopped fishing right then because i was satisfied enough with the look on that dudes face.

Gulp the bait co. makes some grub worms that are scented and move really well in the running water. I have used those for a couple years with great success. Any large insect works well with the brookies but a lot of times the stockers want something round and shinny. Stupid fish! The only bait that works for both natives and stockers is the good old fashioned earth worm.

that was for justin.. and now i suppose u lol

I'm good to go. My rear fenders and interior will probably be unfinished and look terrible, but my rig and I will still be there on Saturday.

it's as ready as it will be for a while. it is currently an auto-stick! i have to shift my auto trans manually. plus it's making a weird noise when i leave from a stop. not sure if it is the training or a creaky shock. gonna have to take the pan off the trans sooner or later anyway and check the syncros.

i got the check engine light fixed, so now i can at least take it in and see if it passes smog. had a code for the tps. bought one, went to remove the old one and it wasn't there. guess that explains one of the extra plugs that was laying around.

never fished silverwood. any good? wife has been wanting to take the 5th wheel and boat up there for a weekend trip. i hear its tough to get a spot on the lake as they limit the amount of boats and it fills up quik.
