finaly got an XJ 99 limited with some stuff

After some wandering around on Pirate, seems STaK is out of business or in the process of being bought out. Trail worth fab is buying them or in the process of a D300 case upgrade.

In all honesty I could just make this a pass drop front axle and run an unmodified D300 but limits my resale customer base. Oh, just remembered, have a driver side hoising I the way anyway. Hmmmm. Decisions.

It makes sense to me to just make it so that you can run it unmodified if you already have a passenger side drop housing.

im happy they went out I almost bought a 3speed from them and they were a bunch of morons. they had no knoweldge of the part they were trying to sell me and they couldn't even get their shit together enough to take my money. I waited 2-3 weeks. that when I realized it was time to bail before I was in too deep and the screwed me.

That's the gist of what I'm reading, do not give them money. They are already under if not going under very soon. Not to mention you'll be screwed if you need parts.

Luke, not running a pass side drop since this will bolt directly into an XJ when I go to part it out or randomly change my mind it will be harder to sell.
Also just remembered I have a driver side kinda housing on the way anyway haha.
Maybe I'll just watch pirate for an atlas, trans case is atill in research phase anyway.

found some front axle parts today.

i'll be playing with some brackets to see what will work best or what i can come up with, if i'm feeling ballsy i may start cutting it. then i need to start playing the unit bearing game, not sure what i'll be using there.

5.3 heads are getting redone, valve job, seals, resurface and trunion upgrade.

welded up a JCR build a bumper for my brother today and used it to practice MIG. since the welds get ground down and smoothed out it doesn't matter so much what they look like.

anyone looking for a bumper and doesn't want to pay a lot... buy a JCR build a bumper! i had the entire thing tacked up in about 45min and this is the first one i've tried doing.

haha brings me back to my pre-runner and desert racing fab days, flip flops, shorts, tshirt with no gloves. i've only had flash burn on my face, the rest of me doesn't seem to get it some how.

The yellow one in the pic used for the welding (not the tacks) is my ESAB Caddy 200i.

why.... why have you welded a big important looking piece of metal to the unreinforced sheetmetal uniframe rails?

Shut up Adam, the belly pan ties everything in very well, I know a few with this setup that have been abused to shit for years without issue.
