all fab work done, back from powder coat yesterday, speaker wire to measure for brake line lengths. just needs 2 brake lines and 2 axle shafts that were ordered today.
after looking at it more i'll probably take the hubs and rotors off to glass bead then paint before the final install since they look like crap.
Well shit....... How do I get it on the ground and under the jeep?
Ok before anyone suggests "gravity" my brother already did an while that would be the easiest way I opted to not scratch it and asked a buddy to stop by. Ended up over here.
Had some random springs laying aroun so I threw themin for now, defiantly going to cut a coil or two off.
That's why I chose the 9 to build. Since this will be a street and winter driving rig I need the front and rear gears to match but for the mud you need the front to spin just a little faster than the rear. Now with the front 9 I can swap out the normal 3rd for one with different gears and probably just a cheap spool so I'll be able to steer it better.
well in that case by the rear i just built. i don't like a few things about it that i only learned after i made it, was sort of a learning experiment. still does and will work perfect though.
not going to be any progress on the front i don't think as i am waiting on Spidertrax to finish up this run of ultimate unit bearings, i need a left one, won't ship out till the 24. probably be at the shop 27 and then i'll still have to fab up some true bar pucks or something for them. at least after building the rear i know a few things and the front will go much faster, should have the Cs on and 100% welded in an afternoon with the brackets tacked on a short time after.
i keep playing with the idea to just make the front coil over and be done with it. not sure yet, all the good deals on coil overs are out west and none of the guys will ship and they make it seem like it's an ordeal to put them in a box then drop off at UPS or something. we'll see what happens in the next few weeks.
