finaly got an XJ 99 limited with some stuff

On a 96 or earlier yes that is possible, on a 97 or later no, it isn't even close to possible. That's what I said in my last post :spin1:

From what I am reading on that Novak page, their box basically replaces the ECU, takes sender inputs, and converts them to the bus signal the instrument cluster wants. The problem is, they yap about CAN bus and such, which the XJ never, ever converted to, so either they're wrong about it working on a cherokee, or they're wrong about it being CAN bus, or it supports both CAN and CCD buses.

Hahah ok. I see what you mean, I didn't know you meant you can't even hot wire it.

I'll call them and find out. If for $160 my OEM gauges will work with the LS then it's worth it.

I can't wait until I have to figure out how to wire my LS1. I'm just gunna make everything as standalone and as simple as possible.

come help me figure it out, work more best that way... maybe? hahah

i'm wandering over to pirate some and LS1tech.com to look at some LSx electrical stuff.

some head work, compression was a bit higher than expected since the CCs on the head were smaller than the last 4.0 so they will be opened up a little and while he was in there did about 2 more hours of port work and blending.

then resurfaced, next weekend it should be going together.

while he was doing that i was turning the backing plate mount off of the D60 spindles i have, maybe i'll use them not sure. i am liking the Ruff Stuff D60 spindle flanges a bit more since i can just use front spindles, hubs, rotors and calipers on the rear. also if there is ever damage it may just be a new spindle away from fixing.

well this turd is gonna take a bit more time to polish up than i expected

the nice looking passanger rockers and the burnt driver side make me wonder what i'll find when i take the heads off as i need to clean these things.

intake runners are caked with carbon and crap from the EGR.

4:56. Brand new gears in the 9 and I'm not buying new ones.

Also.... 300hp V8, don't have to over gear it for the turd 4.0. Also yes, this is for the road. I have low range in the transfer case for a reason.

finally drove this around the driveway... finalize the steering links, weld rear shock brackets on, once over all the bolts to make sure they are tight and bleed the brakes. take for a test drive. started right up and didn't even have a CEL for once hahaha.

not bad just just rollers for now. the back spacing on those wheels is retarded, i need like 65 WMS in the rear. the 37s on craigers will be on there soon.

609 rear is coming together soon. everything will be on the way here this week.

nice deal on a N case 3rd member, 35 spline ARB with unfortunately 5:29s but what ever, good deal so i went with it. just need to mock it up and order the cut to fit shafts from ECG... then BAM! sick ass rear. oh.. and the 4 link too.

also last week i took all the parts off the GM D60 front, inner Cs out with shafts. sell off a few things and i'll have a Spidertrax front housing on the way. i'm aiming for just after Christmas for that one.

Mine with 5.5in lift on 35s was shorter than a stock 2500 GM series truck. I had mine parked at a friends house between his 2012 Chevy 2500 and his fathers GMC 2500, both gas jobs on stock suspension/tires. Made my jeep look small.

Clayton XJ is 8in on 35s, their JK is 4.5in on 37s and the roofs are about the same height. Granted from stock XJ roof height that's a lot but when compared to a medium sized truck it's not that bad. Nice thing about the XJ, can lift the hell out of it and still fit it in a garage.

8 inches of lift is too damn much for an XJ unless you are running like 46s or something.

Your comparing apples to oranges with the jeep and the truck. Two totally different setups. And it's not about roof height. It's about stability. You ever have a Cherokee out on some real rocks yet.

That's all I was saying when I said "too tall", just over all height.

I'd like to only have 4.5 inches of lift on this with 37s but too much cutting and I won't have enough room for the axles and suspension I don't think. I like the look where the big tires are sucked up into the body more.
