Nobody go ape-dookie on me here, I’m just gauging interest. I would *like* to get $4500 for the thing, but we’ll see.
The good:
1988 Jeep Cherokee Limited
4.5” Rusty’s full spring lift with 2” boost = 6.5” in the air.
Dana 44 rear with 4.88s, chromo shafts and a Grizzly locker (identical to the Detroit but machined better).
Dana 30 front with chromos, big joints, 4.88s and an Aussie locker.
RE thick track bar.
34” tires with decent tread, brand new 33” spare, all on aluminum rims.
It has a hitch and tows well.
It has a 12k pound Brand X winch that may or may not go with the rig, depending what I get for it.
Nice roof rack with Hi-lift mounts.
Real beefy AJ’s rock rails.
Has KC off-road lights on the bumper, but they aren’t as bright as some of the newer jobs. They work well, though.
I’m sure there’s more – most of you know the Jeep. Ask questions if you want. It passes smog just fine.
The Bad:
Needs front-end bushing work done. It drives really well and tracks straight and off-roads like a beast, but the bushings are worn out, especially in the control arms.
It has a CB but the thing only receives, no transmit. I cannot decide if it’s the CB or a bad antenna wire or whatever. I put in a different CB a few days back but haven’t tested it yet.
It’s a Renix.
Three of the doors are black/manual windows, while the driver door is original and power windows. I did it like that so that I had a key to one of the doors and could lock the rig. I have all the doors and a spare hatch that would go with it too.
The rear hatch struts are shot. Have vice-grips handy.
The steering wheel jiggles around a bit because something in the column is loose. It’s been that way since day one and I’ve never minded.
Rearview mirror fell off.
I’m sure there’s more, but it’d be so minor as not to matter.
Anyhow, hit me up if interested and what you’d offer me. Like I said, it’s just a feeler to see wussup. I got my eye on a sweet ’78 Trailduster on 37s/one-ton axles.
