Could we have asked for a better day at Haspin Acres in January? The only thing I would have changed would have been the amount of carnage that was done. That is the reason I never made it back for the raffle. I was down in a ravine with a busted Dana 44 passenger side knuckle. After I got towed (backwards) to the parking lot, we scraped the pan for a bowl of chili and a hot dog. According to Toni Reece (the cook), she fixed over 8 gallons of chili and a couple hundred hot dogs. This was our 3rd year hosting this event and this was by far the best one yet. As a lot of you know, we decided to hold a raffle for the benefit of Jim Biles, a member of our club, the Fat Boys Jeepers. As a result of everyone's generosity, we raised $861 for Jim and his family.
I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this cause, whether it was by donating raffle items, helping cook/serve the free meal to everyone, or just buying raffle tickets. It's great to know that we have so many caring people in this sport of ours.
