Factory Tire Carrier

whats a fair market value for it?

same version as pictured earlier--

$50.00 at pick-n-pull-- had to pull it (and accessory brackets) myself, but I got the rear bumper (with inner reinforcements not shown in the illustration or photograph) with it for that cost.

Welp, I have it. As best as I can tell all the parts are with it. Gona have to figure out hardware but thats easy. I spent all day looking for any information pics or anything. Ive found just about al I need to know except for one thing. How does the mount on the tail gate go?

Anyone have a pic or could take one if they have one? I found pics of every part but that one mount.

Or does it not? The mount I am talking about is the bottom right in the picture.

I'd have to disagree on this. I have the one that hitches to the bumper and the latch on the gate. I have had a 31" spare on there for 5 years or so and never had a rattle or shift.

I welded a piece of 3" channel inside the bumper to reinforce, and bolted a 4"square piece of flat stock inside the hatch. Works great. I wouldn't want the 2 hinge variety.

The ones that bolt to the side of the quarter panel bend/tweak the sheet metal...seen it more than once and you need to cut a hole in the bumper, or get the bumper off the donor.

I have to agree. I had the one that hitches to the bumper with the latch on the gate on a '90 XJ that I had for 11 years without a squeak or a rattle. Yes, it was only carrying a 235 tire, but I liked the idea of no holes in the body, where I have seen other older XJs with the two point tire carrier develop rust.

Found it. My mystery bracket goes in inside of the bumper on the right side corner.

Im gona shoot if charcoal gray. I think thats gona match things nicely. Now all I gotta do is fine one more Icon and we are in business!
