these pics are
inspiration for those who just bought a stock XJ
appreciation for those who share their knowledge with the rest of us
vindication for us junkyard warriors who shop for bargains and go our own route in building our jeeps....
Spring 2005 - bone stock except for 235/75/15 Aurora MT's

Summer 2005 - junkyard lift - Dakota leafs, bronco coils, F150 and Wrangler shocks, wrangler brake line, ABS master cyl removed, running boards removed, trailer hitch added for rear recovery point

Winter 2006 - home built bumper - tied into frame rails and steering box bolts - d ring loops are 3 layers of 1/4" steel with the middle layer part of the mounts, front fender flares removed (will be trimmed and reinstalled, turbo lebaron hood vents, Rancho RS5000 shocks, quick disconnects on front swaybar

Spring 2007 - 31"MTR's on alum A/R rims (bought used - too good of a deal to pass up) already have 5 black A/R rims to mount the 33's when the 31's wear out. Rusty's 6.5" long arm system with HD track bar. still the bastard pack in the rear with a 3" block. RE SYE with spicer flange from 82 Merc Cougar XR7 to mate with the 95 Grand Cherokee driveshaft for the rear. running stock front shaft. Pro comp explorer long travel shocks. front brake hoses from 1990 Chev C1500 2WD pickup, rear brake hose is for a wrangler but need to do something about that - still a bit too short.

And, yes, I do use it

Still to come:
I have the 4.10 LSD disc brake explorer rear end - just need to either put 4.10s in a front D30 or get a better front axle. still deciding.
I have the taurus electric fan to go in
33" AT's, maybe 35" if I get a better front axle
Fender trimming - replace the flares
Bumper needs a stinger and lights
Fab up rear bumper and roof rack with ladder (already have the ladder from a junkyard van)
Fab up some sliders with 1" receivers facing sideways to mount steps for wife and kids for street use. steps will be easily removable for off road.
And straighten out the damn dust shields on the front axle!!! that scraping noise is driving me crazy!!!
